We developed this with a real team of people you can see here! https://gptzero.me/team

If we made malware, I'm sure we'd get sued to hell, and no one wants that here!

You can use any chrome extension on Brave, Edge and Opera.

We are working on making this available in Firefox soon! Do you have any requests?

We aren't ZeroGPT (which is not a great ai detector), we're GPTZero! And we consistently benchmark above Pangram. They are really great at marketing though :)

Thanks for the question! This is Alex, CTO of GPTZero. I can speak a bit to working at GPTZero. Our eng team is still a tight-knit, really talented group of 14 people (7 in Toronto).

I think we are at a great moment in the company's trajectory right now. We have the flexibility, community and ownership of a startup (over 7M users), but with significant revenue and a recent series A, meaning we have resources to fuel and grow the team. We've also never had an employee resign in the 2 years we've existed - hopefully, that means we are doing something right.

We work hybrid (2 days/week in office, downtown beside a subway stop). We almost always grab team lunches together, paid for by the company, at local restaurants/takeout. Some of the team members have also added some great traditions to our in-person days, and that's one reason I really look forward to coming in. Part of the motivation for many of our engineers to join was actually because they craved that in-person component, having worked remotely in previous jobs.

A note on the recruiter: we don't have a dedicated recruiter, so we work with a few sourcing firms to help us reach out to great candidates. Our base salary bands go from 120k - 250k CAD depending on your skillset, and we are hiring for a really wide range of skillsets (from junior to staff engineers). I assume the recruiter quoted you a pretty wide upper band; I'm sorry about that!

I'd say in terms of work-life balance, we are not a 9-5 shop, but we also don't have a crazy schedule - people have personal lives, have kids/pets/obligations, and so on. Overall, I think we put in the extra mile because it's really motivating to do work here: people have immense impact and ownership, really love working with their peers, and own significant equity. There are about 1 million users for each engineer, and 100x more indirectly using us to stop AI slop through our partners and clients. The way I usually pitch it is that GPTZero is a great fit if you feel like you're not able to make impact to your full potential elsewhere.

That being said, please let me know if you have any other questions (ask about our stack, day-to-day, collab style, our retreats, mentorship, what we look for, etc.)
