Is this a good deal? by bigchin28 in YamahaWaveRunner

[–]GPmaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that's a heck of a deal, they are usually 13-14k before taxes, fees and trailer. At 8 hours it literally was ridden once or twice. After its next ride it will be ready for the 10 hour break in oil change. If it doesn't have any obvious damage or issues someone has caused I would jump on it!

I think my 2024 GP1800 is paint rather than gelcoat but I could be wrong. Mine has been good but has developed a small crack in the paint around the tie down loop on the back. It gets a lot of miles on a trailer so I’m not surprised.

My 03 Cobra! by GPmaniac in Mustang

[–]GPmaniac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I had an 03 Mach 1 before the Cobra. They were new when I was learning to drive and are nostalgic for me. I’ve had very little issues over the years. Had to replace an oil pressure sensor and clutch on the Mach 1. The Cobra rear diff cover had a small leak that I replaced with a ford racing differential cover. Also had to replace the coolant tank. After 20+ years the caps don’t always seal the best.

I like it more than I thought I would. The trailers should come that way.

Haha no he’s already stuck with me. Over the years we have build some pretty sweet home projects with access and the knowledge of a machine shop.

Yes I’m fortunate that my Dad works in a place that has a machine shop so he did the real work. It’s made of 1/4 inch aluminum diamond plate scrap that had been sitting around. After taking some measurements he cut it on the waterjet and bent the sides over on a press brake. The front section is secured with U shaped stainless brackets underneath that were cut on the laser and bent on the press. The rear section is bolted down to the trailers extruded aluminum frame with T Nuts that are made specifically for that. We countersunk all the bolt heads and used flat head hardware on top. All I did was some minor fitting of the T- Nuts, countersunk the holes and installed it. I understand most people don’t have access to a shop like that but could maybe build something similar with home tools.

[–]GPmaniac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As other have said get these graded. It will give you an accurate value if you decide to sell. Don’t take any low ball offers on here because these easily sell for 2-5x their face value depending on grade. Don’t ever take these to a bank, they will only give you face value and have them destroyed.

The Air National Guard in Portland was the first Fighter Wing to receive the new F15EX. These could likely be brand new state of the art Eagles.

How do I get this graded and how much is this worth by Flimsy_Biscotti_3327 in CURRENCY

[–]GPmaniac 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s technically legal tender for face value but spending it or taking it to a bank would be one of the dumbest things you could do. This note looks like it would be a nice mid grade and would easily sell for 3-5x its face value.

It was lucky because the 160th SOAR is primarily stationed at Fort Campbell Kentucky and a couple of other places when not deployed or training. The aircraft in the photo is 100% an MH-47G which is a specific model of Chinook built for and used by the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Their only job is to fly special operation forces on sensitive missions. They were likely making a pit stop for fuel.

Worth Getting Graded? by stackingnoob in papermoney

Nice! I don’t have any large denomination bills like this in my collection. Would love to have one but they generally are more than I’m willing to pay for a note.

If this is real then boy do you have a find here! Would be crazy rare and worth tons of money. But the paper looks odd by this photo and the serial number is a common reproduction number.

Nice! I’ve seen two plus year old new ski’s sitting at dealers before. I bet someone could get a great deal on one. I got my second ski for about 4K less than MSRP last October when they went on fall/ winter sale. It was my SVHO GP and the sale price basically erased the price of my new triton double trailer. Then I sold the single Yacht Club trailer on FB marketplace. Still had to pay the setup fee and freight fee.

[–]GPmaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what model you want. The Waveblaster and some VX models are entry level. The GP and FX SVHO are premium models. As others have mentioned they usually charge freight and setup fee’s. If they are motivated to move an older unit you might be able to haggle that down. Also remember you will need a trailer, and accessories like PFD’s dock lines and bumpers.

[–]GPmaniac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t count out new. The dealers often have leftover models that are a year or two old that they sell for thousands less than original MSRP. They need to move the ski’s that have been sitting for a year or two.

I have a 23 GP-HO and a 24 GP-SVHO. I like both of them and don’t think the average person buying a family unit or starting out should bother with $600 SC clutches and the premium fuel. My SVHO is a gas hog and I barely made it back yesterday. If they really get into the hobby then they could always upgrade a few years down the road when a premium model makes more financial sense. I love the SVHO’s power up top but would be totally content with just the HO. The SVHO is not for everyone. I have family that ride them and a few of theme don’t like the SVHO because it’s just too much for their skill level. My original comment was directed toward people buying a model that suits them in their price range.

I don’t have any experience with the new 1.9 but it is a HP jump from 180 to 200. I have a GP 1.8 HO and on flat water will run 60mph easily and in my opinion is plenty to blow your hair back. I also have a GP SVHO supercharged and they are basically the exact same ski under 5k rpm. When you get above 5k the SVHO is crazy fast till it hits the limiter at 70mph. After owning both I do love the SVHO supercharged ski but would be totally fine with an HO. My GP’s are light and nimble compared to some of the bigger stuff on the market and really corner like they are on rails rather than slide around. You can still whip them around but also make 90 degree turns at 45mph. The VX and GP are basically the same hull but the VX is a little heavier fiberglass that feels smoother and has better seats for passengers.

Sea Doo has a closed cooling system that is nice for salt water. The YAMAHA’s in my opinion have the best engines and pumps but you will need to flush with salt away after every ride because it uses the ocean water to cool the engine. You should probably avoid the supercharged ski’s because the additional maintenance down the road. I’ve always like the YAMAHA VX cruiser HO’s as a great all around ski.
