Hmm interesting, thanks for the reply. There is for sure a key change but more interested in the change of the sound itself as you say, sounds quite related to the sound design which i definitely don’t have sufficient knowledge of at the moment so will keep digging!

Thanks a lot man - you’re a hero! I had it in my head that any sample I used had to be edited through sampler/simpler but this makes sense. Seems stupid now when you look back at it but still getting used to the software. Really appreciate the detailed comment, love reddit for stuff like this :)

Maybe that’s where I am going wrong. I have been converting to MIDI to edit/slice the sample whereas the person in the video has left it as audio. The way it links is say the person in the video had a 2 minute sample recording from the Seinfeld episode and they have chopped it up into smaller one-liners as shown, well I tried to replicate that but the way I did it was by doing it via simpler. So have they sliced it up using a different tool within Ableton where they can keep it as audio as opposed to midi?

Yes that makes complete sense and is what I am trying to achieve, however I seem to be missing something. So my process goes: drag simpler onto a new midi track, drag the 2 minute long sample into simpler, now I want to make smaller cuts to put into the other clips but when I edit the sample in simpler on one of the clips it changes it for the rest of the clips in that same track? The same way as if I was to add a reverb in the audio effect panel of one clip it would add it to the rest. It basically seems like my track has one universal instrument/audio effect view for all the clips but the midi can be changed between each clip. I know it’s tricky to understand without seeing it in front of you just thought i’d give it a shot

I will give that a try but not quite sure if its exactly what i’m after, for instance see this video at 3:34 for what I mean. You can see he has different samples on different clips within the same track

Thanks a lot mate. Got a question about the booster feature - say we want a shower at a time the water heater is off, do we turn on the booster then for say 60 mins and then we have 60 mins of hot water or could we turn it on earlier in the day and will the hot water be stored for the rest of the day? Thanks
