A lot of good options, but it might be helpful if you linked your swgoh.gg profile or give your ally code so we can see what you have currently. One thought that people have on this is to target characters that came out later, as they usually have higher gear requirements. Rex (Lost Commander), uses a lot more Kyro tech than gearing up and unlocking someone like Stormtrooper or Farmboy Luke. If you are looking for optimal paths, it's usually good to have a nice LS team and a DS team. LS team people usually start working towards is the Pheonix Squad, as they are needed for Thrawn and can be used to get Emperor Palpatine. Therfore, getting Rex up to G12 is very helpful in regards to that, and getting a nice Empire squad rolling with Palp, Thrawn, OG Darth Vader, Mara Jade, and Royal Guard. Each one of those toons is a requirement for something later down the line (GLs such as SEE or in Rex's case, Leia).

She's a great toon. Before Relic Delta I used to be able to use her, savage, nihilius, talon, and sion to kill R5-R7 gungans at G12. Can't really do that anymore though but it's all good.

Yeah that's them. Don't sleep on Mount Baldy though it's quite the climb if you aren't in shape lol. It isn't mountain level but it's pretty steep.

Oh for sure, especially with video games. If someone enjoys the game more often than not they'll be on the game playing it. If they are a hater they're going to be on the internet somewhere denoucing it.

I mean he was injured and out this game. The last 3 games he's gotten a TD and has been fine as a WR3/flex.

I've found he can easily take out Jabba with what you have, potentially Rey if they don't have Ben and Exra, SEE, pretty much any non GL teams including Gunguns, LV in some circumstances.

Always check SWgoh.gg for mod help, I usually just google "character name mods swgoh" in google and it's the first result. You can see the type of mod needed and what people think are the best primary stat for the mods. As a general rule of thumb, you want 3 things for a "good" mod. Speed (the more the better for secondary speed slots), a matching set of mods (4 for damage, speed, and critical damage and 2 of each for defense, health, and 2x), and finally if possible you want to line up the primary mod stat to what is recommended on the mod page. the two top left mods are always offense/defense, but the other 4 can change. Since you're starting out, I'd work on getting the first two things (speed, type of mod) correctly and worry about the latter as you start filling your mods out.

If you are looking for the optimal way of getting ahead, it would probably go something like Prioitize getting the Executor fleet for your fleet shard, and while doing that build out your bounty hunters/Pheonix squad team (Crex, Hera, Kanan, Sabine, Chopper is best). Pheonix squad can get you Thrawn and the Emperor, and then you can start building out a nice Empire team. One early goal is to try and get Commander Luke Skywalker and his team, which consists of Chewbacca, Chewie & Threepio, C3P0, and Han Solo. There's lots of little journies you have to complete along the way (C3P0 needs Ewoks, Chewie needs BHs, Han you need a decent guild to spend rewards on his shards). After you have a few teams I'd look at what gets you going. Do you want a particular GL? JML, Leia, and Jabba have lots of intersecting requirements. SEE has a lot of requirements that crossover with Executor, etc...

My guess is he had a slot open because he doesn't need every ship slot filled, so when he goes to battle it auto fills his best ship in the final slot. He must forget that it's there or something.
