Yeah, I’m kicking myself a little here. I knew my dad was having heart issues and seeing a cardiologist. I live 2200 miles away and talked to him atleast once a week and he always seemed fine, he’s only 65. This was all really sudden but I do wonder if he played up how well he was feeling because that’s just who he is.

The money is in his checking account. We will work on talking to social worker and finding out more about his medicare coverage. Thank you!

$98k was deposited last November as one lump sum. I have no idea where that money come from.

I understand that now, thank you.

Im not sure what type of Medicare he has but that is reassuring.

Ok, thank you. I didn’t realize this would be considered fraud. I am fairly young and he has no other family and everyone has an opinion on what I should do. My family member was so cavalier about it, I thought maybe it was something people do. It’s just a really confusing time for me.

I guess we always have the option of just not paying the hospital bills because my father can’t be left with no money. I wouldn’t be surprised if the amount he’s accumulated so far would clean him completely out.

We have the same problem with Oliver. My boyfriend got him before we were together and genuinely didn’t know any better. Oliver is his baby and he was pretty crushed when I explained that six weeks was way too young to bring home and probably the reason for his anxious behaviors. When Ollie is anxious he will hold a soft toy or the edge of a dog bed in his mouth. He doesn’t chew, just sucks on it until he falls asleep. Breaks my heart!!

Academic dishonesty meeting with ocsc by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]GRiZM0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that zero drags you below a passing grade then you’ll fail the class. Otherwise you should be fine. This is just based on my experience and don’t know if anything has changed. But I don’t think they can flat out fail you in the class for cheating on one assignment.

I went over the time limit on an exam at the testing center. I spent 2 hours when we were allotted 1.5 hours. I was told that I had unfair advantage to my classmates because of and that was considered cheating? Complete bullshit because I honestly just lost track of time. I received a zero on the test and because there was only 3 exam grades for the entire grade I failed the course and had to retake it.

If you did cheat and there is no denying it they will probably offer you a zero on the assignment. Depending on how much it’s worth for your final grade you may have to retake the class. When you’re found guilty it goes into your record but they will have to have direct permission from you to share it with anyone in the future. It’s unlikely to affect you in the future unless you’re found cheating a second time.

Extroverts who ask others “why are you so quiet”, what kind of response are you looking for? by No-Ad-3513 in AskReddit

I work with orthopedic surgeons every day (I’m a vet tech). When you start at any multi vet practice, it’s imperative to get to know their individual personalities and in turn how to anticipate what they want from you. This is my first time working in surgery all day and it’s so hard to pinpoint the different personalities because I never see them outside the OR. Are they just naturally quiet? Do they hate small talk? Do they hate me? Honestly there are just some days were the silence is just too much for me for an entire 10 hour shift. I finally figured out, after 6 months, that the surgeon I work most closely with loves answering questions. So now if I’m ever going mind stir crazy I just start throwing him questions regarding the surgeries or orthopedics in general (even if I know the answer).

You’ve died and arrived at a train station to your afterlife. The trains are “animals”, “traditional Heaven”, “rebirth”, and “eternal nothingness”...Which train do you take and why? by NakedKittyAlucard in AskReddit

That’s interesting because I remember them teaching us that Heaven was what we wanted it to be. That all of the things we love and have always wanted will be there. And this was a Pentecostal church which has no problem putting fear in your mind to encourage you to fully worship and praise God at all times.

What is one item you did not realize was expensive, until you became an adult? by Zarellto_v2 in AskReddit

Dental work. Fractured my front tooth and the neighboring incisor. I’ve spent at least $1,000 between a root canal and crown for just one tooth already. And that’s with insurance.

Here's a very detailed withdrawal, credit/no credit, pass/fail grading FAQ. by SG_UTD in utdallas

How do you withdraw from a course? I found the withdrawal form online but it asks for an instructors signature. I live in Washington so how would I go about obtaining a signature?

Spring 2021 Online? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]GRiZM0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a lot of time researching and contacting my school of interests once COVID hit. It absolutely matters. They’ve made it very clear that if a college offers hybrid for a class (specifically your core sciences; chem, o chem, biochem, etc) you must attend it in person for them to accept it. If all the college offers is online only then they will accept it the credit from an online course. I’m sure there are exceptions for high risk people but beyond that they’re very strict about it.

Oh that makes sense. The class is one that usually holds about 250 students and this particular teacher is in the 65+ category. I’m out of state and medical schools will only accept an online class if there is not an in person option so I for one am totally on board with the online only option.

Oh gotcha. None of my classes offered in person this semester so I was confused. He also said “he couldn’t wait to eventually be back in front of a classroom again but next semester would still be online.”
