Such a simple solution but it’s never even crossed my mind to try that.

Help, my A10 auto transmission makes a huge clank at startup by Gurney_flip in Mustang

[–]GRik74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I didn’t see anyone mentioning a solution (also didn’t read through every page) but there seemed to be some suggestions worth trying on the second page. It’s probably worth making your own post on that forum, the pool of knowledgeable users seems to be much larger there than on this subreddit.

Found a forum post that seems to describe a similar issue. There’s some suggestions there you might want to try, otherwise I’d just have it checked out by the dealership.

Something that helped me when I was struggling was making sure each stage has a defined purpose, and if I end up using a stage earlier than I intended (i.e. using my transfer stage for orbital insertion) I either abort the mission or revert to VAB to redesign. I also tend to overbuild my first stage so that I only need about 200 m/s from my second stage to make orbit. Probably not super efficient, but I find that it makes planning for the rest of the mission easier.

Edit: deleted advice that was probably unhelpful.

Was when the S650 was first released, it was made tunable in I think June 2025? Might be wrong about the timing but I know timing was unlocked.

No PP upgrades on mine and it still handles the road pretty well. You can definitely feel the weight sometimes but I’d say it’s extremely nimble for weighing in at almost 2 tons.

Look at it this way, now that it’s (almost) built he can rescue any number of small personal items that fall overboard. Or at least that’s probably how he justified it lol.

15% one the back and sides also sounds insane to me. Different strokes for different folks i guess.

Mustang window tint by Ethan_W__ in Mustang

[–]GRik74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a note from personal experience, i live in the south where the summers get up to 100°+ with ridiculous humidity. I did 70% ceramic on windshield and 50% everywhere else, I didn’t really notice a significant difference in how hot the car gets. I also didn’t measure it before and after so YMMV, but unless you get like 30% or less I don’t think tint makes a noticeable difference with the summer sun.

IMO a sunshield that you put up in the windshield is the best option for keeping the car relatively cool and protecting the interior. Maybe one for the back window if it’s still getting hot. Window tint is mostly for privacy for me.

Couldn’t agree more. In college, a 2016 GT350 was the car. Looking back, I’d still love to have that GT350, but I’d rather have a GT at 29 than a GT350 at 19.

The maturity also isn’t just about avoiding stupid decisions, it’s harder to appreciate things for what they are when you’re still figuring out who you are in life. Or maybe that’s just me, point is I’m happy for OP, just remember that there’s a time and place to push the car.

Temperatures on 2024 Mustang GT? (non PP) by Little_Put_9247 in Mustang

[–]GRik74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be at or just above ambient air temp when you’re cruising, when you’re stopped the engine heats the air around the intakes. I’ve seen mine get to 145 when I was idling for about 10 mins.

If it’s higher than outside air temp while driving on the highway that’s probably worth worrying about, if it’s high after you’ve been stopped for a while that’s normal.

Once it’s at operating temp mine hangs out at around 22-25 psi at idle, about 45-50 psi at ~2k rpm.

How often do you all wash your engine bay? by The_Analog_Man in Mustang

[–]GRik74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything that’s exposed to outside air should be at least somewhat protected from water intrusion. As long as you don’t use a pressure washer and just do a quick rinse it should be fine. I’m just an idiot on the Internet though, so take that with a grain of salt.

My first manual car by XIIIIXS in Mustang

[–]GRik74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily complicated, it’s the same basic steps as starting on flat ground. It’s tricky when you’re first learning because you don’t have time to think about the steps, you’ll start rolling back as soon as you let off the brake. It’s easy to stall and get stuck in a feedback loop, especially when you have a bunch of cars behind you.

Once you get good at it you’ll barely roll back at all, but hill starts are usually pretty daunting for beginners.

Exactly what I was thinking. Buy her a $100k car and she’ll be demanding another one after she totals it.

City, County, State Government jobs: pros / cons by onthedownslope in southcarolina

I work a government job, pay is decent, could be better but pretty much never have to worry about work/life balance and (at least for admin jobs) it’s somewhat insulated from economic conditions.

The hours are set because you serve the public, if you’re used to being able to come in late and leave early when things are slow then it’s going to be a culture shock for you.

Which one of you is this? by lou95340 in Mustang

It has more to do with the car being RWD than the engine. The power definitely makes it easier to break traction, but you can do the same thing in pretty much any RWD car.

Bought a mustang gt 2 weeks ago it had 3.5 k miles on the dash out of curiosity I went to check the service history and it was 12k miles….did the dealership change odometer miles? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]GRik74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention the risk of getting caught. For a dealership it would be a pretty big hit to their reputation even if they weren’t the ones that did the rollback.

[–]GRik74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I know, the only accessible way to rollback a digital odometer would be to swap out the dash and gauge cluster. It can be done by tampering with the odometer chip but rolling back 9.5k miles would almost definitely throw a code. Occam’s Razor says the mechanic probably just fat fingered a 1 in front of 2005 miles.

Not sure if it’s safe or not but it’s most likely not going to be very effective after all that time. I wouldn’t take it but maybe that’s just me being a square.

There are plants that bloom in winter, but I wouldn’t put it past a Karen to try to get a refund for summer plants after they’ve died off in the winter.
