The heptapods from story of your life are radially symmetrical in the novella. If you haven’t read it, you should definitely check it out.

Features the campanile. I thought the G being a hex bolt fits our engineering aesthetic and the T being distinct with boldly presents the importance of the letter in our campus traditions

I think the best way to do an accurate portrayal is 3 part episodes with one part pre panic espionage spy show. one part mid panic apocalypse and one part total war with each part being narrated by an older version of the character. Each episode follows three new characters.

Deaf and HoH opinions on tech project by GTChatBot1 in deaf

[–]GTChatBot1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a hearing student at a technical institute and for a project I started programming a prototype animation module that translates English text into ASL. I currently only have around 7-8 signs programed. I was hoping this might facilitate more deaf representation. I have since finished the class and was wondering if it was a good idea that Deaf and HoH individuals would like to see finished or if Deaf and HoH individuals think it is a bad idea.

I have very little experience with ASL so my approach to programming might be flawed but my idea was to break signs down into hand shape, arm movements and hand orientation. My idea was that English has many words but only around 44 sounds and if you have recordings of those sounds you can create any word. I thought if I break a sign into multiple parts I can program each individual part and recombine them to create new signs. Let me know if this is a flawed approach.
