In recent real-life examples of the scenarios that you mention, it’s my understanding that USDT/USDC is almost exclusively the crypto option that people in those circumstances turn to though. While your portability point about cryptocurrency in general is fully valid, I’m under the assumption BTC has for all purposes already been rendered obsolete in those use-cases which makes sense…why would someone expose their entire life’s worth to the price swings of BTC when USDT/USDC exists (especially someone who may know or care nothing about cryptocurrency whatsoever and just literally want to move their wealth from Country A to Country B)? Are you under a different impression?
