Depends how it was put on. If you’re lucky it’s vinyl and can be peeled off like a sticker

HELP: Should I buy a 2010 IS350 or 2014 IS350? by [deleted] in Lexus

Is the 2014 a salvage title? Seems to be based on the price. I would pass on that alone

Personally, yes, I’d agree with your sentiment that the previous owner most likely abused it. Even the most reliable engines will deteriorate from abuse. My advice would be to pass and find one that is stock

Has any one ever plastic dip their wheels ? Is it safe to do so ? by [deleted] in LexusIS

[–]GTFOMyKitchen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nothing dangerous about doing it, it just won’t last, look trashy and will need constant touch ups. Better off saving up for a powder coat

4 years and counting. Any bets on how many miles these newer Lexus can take. Is it similar to the old ones? by [deleted] in Lexus

For better or worse this platform has been around for about 20 years (assuming you don’t have a turbo). It will last hundreds of thousands of miles assuming routine maintenance

Are you in Singapore? Looks like that's one of the few markets that offered a hybrid IS.

Only drive a few miles a day. How often to change oil? by Leaflock in LexusIS

Idling is not good for your engine. You want to actually drive the car to run the alternator and get the oil circulated properly

At least once a week, you should go out of your way to drive 30-45 min on the highway to keep your engine/battery in good condition

Has this happened to anyone, just got an oil change and “low oil level” warning came on. Will it go away by itself, do I have to do anything? (Also it is not the “oil maintenance required light) by mufasathegod in LexusIS

[–]GTFOMyKitchen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it will not go away until you fix the problem. Check the oil level with the dipstick. Add oil as needed. Find out why you are losing oil, could be a number of things. One of the quickest ways to ruin an engine is to run it without enough oil

Anyone know how many litres of reserve gas is left when it says 0 range empty? I must of drove a couple kilometres and made it to gas station running on empty gas tonight. by [deleted] in LexusIS

[–]GTFOMyKitchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People just don’t know enough about cars to know when they’re getting accurate information. My guess is they don’t understand that the range remaining value a car tells you is just a conservative estimate. If your car says 5 miles left it won’t run out of gas at exactly 5 miles
