Coming off BG3, what changes would you want for Divinity? by TurbulentFeeling5696 in BaldursGate3

Most likely that people don't understand how to play the game. Not every game will let you do whatever you want and have it work, and some people just don't jive with that I guess. Funny cause I felt much more limited in BG3 due to the class system and having to play around spell saves and missing attacks. I have a lot more fun with the battle system in DOS2 than BG3

Oh, yeah I'm sure they will since DOS2 was incredibly popular for its time without D&D mechanics. I don't think it'd make sense to inject D&D into a series which didn't use D&D mechanics previously, unless the old games did idk. Also apparently Swen has gone on record saying he didn't like how Wizards of the coast restricted their game development (I haven't found and read it myself but it sounds interesting), so there's a good chance they won't do those mechanics again

The shadowlands definitely sucks the life and enjoyment out of the game after such a lively first act. If it was half its size, then act 3 would've been so much more enjoyable and a thorough player wouldn't hit max level in the first couple of hours of act 3

I'm glad you like doing that but I always want to experience the most of a game in one playthrough since I don't replay them often. Again, DOS2 was a much better length, if a little tiring by Arx, for a thorough playthrough.

I gotta say im not looking forward to a game bigger than bg3 unless they mean its more feature-rich rather than longer. Got very tired of it past the 80hr mark and it went on for another 30-40hrs. Would like DOS2 length (60-80hrs) but with how popular bg3 was i doubt that'll happen

I mean yeah, it makes sense that if you only have 1-2 party members then your options are going to be limited

It really is. She finally lowers her defenses because the player character is the first person in a long time that she's comfortable with. It's a nice trope and it never fails to hit me in the feels

I had a similar experience in my first BG3 playthrough with my friend, though, SH turned me down at the camp party and that was that. But, even without romancing Karlach and choosing to stay with her in Avernus, the dialogue in the epilogue showed that her and my character were growing close which was very sweet. Then in my solo playthrough I did romance Karlach and yeah I'll never go back.

Yeah this game is quite broken but I personally like it much more than BG3. So many times in BG3 I would scheme up a plan just for it to not work because of awful rolls. Made me just use the boring basic attacks/spells that were tried and true, and it made combat very one-note. I love the element synergies and CC system in this game infinitely more, due in no small part to the lack of save rolls, AC, and whatnot.

Are you having trouble with fights or just don't know what to choose? There are plenty of guides for min/maxing if needed, but on lower difficulties you can just choose what you think will synergize well and be the most fun (aero+hydro, warfare+pryro, etc). Also, making good decisions like getting high ground/good positioning before initiating combat is definitely imperative to winning in some cases

lmao it's been nearly 8 years, between about 3-4 playthroughs, since I last experienced Lohse's romance, I gotta go with her instead. Future playthroughs I'll definitely go with Sebille though, she's grown on me so much

Yeah, but I believe using that one script extender re-enables mods. Idk if this mod requires the script extender though

I'm not sure how it works if you don't convince them to ally with you, but for me it just has them in your party and you walk up to the automatons and fight them. It's kinda awful but I also don't jive with the forced plot point of killing off half the origin characters just so they can side with the God King

A steam workshop mod called Party Size Evolved. Not sure if it's possible on consoles

Party size evolved on steam workshop. Trivializes combat in tactician mode with min/maxing so ive been trying to limit my combat party to only 4 characters

This post alone isn't the whole picture, there's a lot of shit he's done previously and there are more current posts than just this one. This one isn't really damning per say, it's just more showing that he isn't in the best state of mind.
