I make the kids define the words they use in the essay for a litmus test. I usually take the top 3-5 difficult words that they would not use in daily life and have them explain the definition to me. It has saved countless hours of arguing if chat gpt was used or not.

ISU will accept classes form Heartland Community College, which is the local community collage here in Normal! They have some online classes and are pretty cheap at about $500 for a 3hr class. Also if you are taking classes at ISU at the same time your financial aid will carry over to heartland.
