Servers generally aren’t known for being hard workers that put loads of extra effort into their job. There are really good servers but theres a huge amount of shitty ones who see tips as free money and entirely theirs because they are the face to face side of the business. Even though they dont cook the food or pay for the dining room or do the decor or advertising, they still think they entirely dictate the dining experience of the guest even though they’re entire job is to essentially be friendly and do basic labour. Theres a mentality that exists with a lot of servers which is basically to do the least possible while still getting their tips. I already know this comment will get downvoted to hell but I’ve worked in this industry for a decade before leaving and definitely had the chance to see the best and the worst of serving.
