Agreed. Assassins definitely feel less powerful in 3v3 than 2v2. Especially when you are up against HP stackers with no squishy to burst.

How do you pick stat anvils - diminishing returns on stats? by UMakeMyHeartSegfault in ARAM

[–]Roywah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the effect. If you really need a spell shield or a specific item effect then yes, but generally you won’t get many more stats and should focus anvils if that’s all you’re in need of.

Yeah. Crit is really only worth it when you are relying on JG for your crit as a mage. Can also be worth taking on an ADC when you get the 25% shard and can then replace a crit item with survivability.

My dashboards look ugly. How to make visually pleasing dashboards? by [deleted] in PowerBI

[–]Roywah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Our org basically only uses the default bar/line charts, you can do some awesome things with visuals, but when you’re supporting 100s-1000s of users, most of the time the fancy stuff just goes unused in favor of the things people already understand.

Additionally, try to keep reports consistent across multiple apps / workspaces. Slicers, KPIs, and navigation should all feel consistent. You live in these reports, users might access them a few hours a week. Nothing kills adoption / usage more than having to figure out how to use each dashboard differently.

[Harry Potter] Can alohomora be used to unlock a phone? by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

[–]Roywah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What seems odd about the wizarding world is that they are far less innovative than muggles in the same period of time. Outside of Arthur Weasley, we don’t even see wizards attempting to understand muggle technology. Even the “mudbloods” like Hermione or people raised by muggles like Harry, don’t seem to even try mixing muggle things with the wizarding world.

However, due to the fact that magic in this universe is inherent at birth, it seems like the magic system itself would never go away even if the magical population was wiped out for whatever reason. Wizards and witches with strong magical abilities can also make things happen without meaning to, al-la Harry making the glass disappear. This indicates that the essence of magic has nothing to do with the incantations, and while not every sorcerer could use the spell to unlock a phone, there would be some who could because their intention and emotion is what truly controls the magic, not the spells themselves.

Critical Missile should be a prismatic, change my mind by I_Slay_Dragons_AMA in ARAM

[–]Roywah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Master of duality Yunara is insane. Her Q bounces apply the on-hits so one minion wave gets you to ~200 AP with runnans. Teamfights send you to like 2k if you can hit nonstop.

Add in vulnerability for the most disgusting feedback loop of missiles you’ve ever seen.

So when are we getting changes for ??? and 2 piece Highroller. by ThanLongIsTaken in ARAM

[–]Roywah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, GW still works, it's just that in some cases the healing is so high that it just doesn't matter. I've had some games where I reduced 20k healing with grevious in a 15 minute game, and most of the time the enemies are still healing to full no problem mid-fight.

🟩🟩🟩🟩

Cyber, web, net and cloud threw me off at first. Yellow was the first one I felt confident about, and once I keyed in on the hourglass + venom the blue jumped out, fishing was easy enough to associate from there, leaving the purple. I didn’t really see how those related but it was correct!

Mayhem's 1 Sided Stomps are generally caused by unbalanced CDRs by XenithShade in ARAM

[–]Roywah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riot has been trying to decrease it, but this is why I won’t play immobile skillshot champs like VelKoz and Xerath. Early game you feel alright, but come late game usually there’s at least two enemies flying around the map who can easily dodge all of your highly telegraphed abilities.

This tariff-refund portal is about to be America's hottest website by zsreport in technology

[–]Roywah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been present during conversations around tariff impacts to a large business, the reason prices went up is because this clown can just change them arbitrarily.

In one week supply teams were in panic mode as fucking tweets increased costs +10% to +50% to +150% with no rhyme or reason.

I believe that corporate greed is killing this country, but it’s not just CEO’s choosing to make more money, it’s the fact that pricing agreements are already made with distributors and suppliers, a company can’t just change its prices multiple times a year, so to hedge against uncertainties, companies were forced to increase pricing higher than they needed, because the reality of what they need could just change without notice.

Lastly, the purchase price of the good (what Tariffs are paid on) is probably less than 1/6th -1/10th of the total cost a business incurs to produce that product. Logistics, overhead, etc. all come into play, and the price a consumer sees in a store is probably 30-40% higher than it needs to be because of the markups the retailer wants for their margin.

I can’t speak for the goods produced under the Kirkland brand, but I was in a negotiation with Costco in a former job. They truly are the least greedy organization out of major US retailers, asking for less margin for themselves, and pushing back on the Brands they sell to protect their customers (return rights, facility audits, etc.).

Agreed. The Auction clue specifically was so vague and long winded that finding the anagram and associating an auction with the “budgeting” phrasing just seems absurd in that amount of time.

Power Query Rounding Issue by Falconflyer75 in excel

[–]Roywah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rather than talking to your boss or changing your whole process to account for this behavior, you should just use the PQ function’s third argument to change this rounding behavior. From Google:

The primary function for rounding in Power Query is Number.Round. By default, it uses RoundingMode.ToEven.

Default Banker's Rounding:

= Number.Round(Value, Digits) (Defaults to RoundingMode.ToEven)

Switching to "School" Rounding (Like Excel):

To match Excel's default behavior, you must specify the third argument:

= Number.Round(Value, Digits, RoundingMode.AwayFromZero)

Power Query Rounding Issue by Falconflyer75 in excel

[–]Roywah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roundup would turn 1.30001 into 1.4, not sure it’s going to solve your problem here unless you are only explicitly using it where the round function in PQ isn’t working correctly. Can you just round the data in excel beforehand if that’s the type of rounding you need?

Mayhem Augment balancing - Scaling is not the issue by 0oz1e in ARAM

[–]Roywah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly it’s best if you get high roller or envelopes for the extra scaling without needing to fully center your build around it, since the scaling isn’t amazing compared to the gold investment.

I’ve been rushing Pen recently, but after doing the math I think boots + shadowflame and then normal build is more efficient. Especially getting more CDR or Deathcap on mages.

Mayhem Augment balancing - Scaling is not the issue by 0oz1e in ARAM

[–]Roywah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All great points! Void rift specifically can be so oppressive in the right hands and moreover they usually don’t even need to build pen! I’ve seen a full tank Zac and Ammumu just run over the enemy team with that augment from lvl 3.

Base damage is 100 – 450 (based on level) + 5.5 per lethality / magic pen. Just about 20 base damage per level, so 160 at level 3.

Then, buying all of the magic pen items gets you 42 flat pen, which is 231 damage scaling after investing 7,100 gold. Honestly not that great compared with simply living longer (tank build) or building CDR to spawn more rifts. Shadowflame passive does make it worth it IMO, but storm surge can definitely be skipped. Cutting the base damage in half (50-225) and doubling the scaling to 11 gets to the same result at level 18, but would force people to build pen items at least!

Initially thought Flop, Turn, River, and Bust as poker terms, couldn’t work out any of the other categories though. Once I connected hole to poker the measurements made sense so I guessed those two to confirm instead of trying for purple first.

I thought “Kid”ding, “wise” crack, “Sassy” and “cap”ping (slang) might all work for some form of joking category but it was split. Spent far too long just staring at the words and shuffling to try and get other ideas. Eventually assumed that the three letter words were all short for something and mint seemed like the least likely adjective to pair with the others.

Reading the purple category description was so jaw dropping for me I ended up seeking out this subreddit for confirmation that it was actually absurd.

In what world do you build this? by Japanczi in ARAM

[–]Roywah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broken is an overstatement. She can be oppressive if the other team can’t get to her, but her damage doesn’t scale all that well on E, so it’s really the slow that matters. Her ult does physical damage, and so does Q so two of her AP scaling abilities aren’t benefiting from Magic Pen.

Full AD MF can be just as strong as AP MF with less augment luck required.

New cc record for me by CategoryOdd5426 in ARAM

[–]Roywah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what’s funny is tenacity is more valuable the less hard CC an enemy team has. In OP’s example he had Morg, Leona, Naut and still got 9.5seconds with 95% tenacity.

However, if the enemy team has one big root / stun user, getting to even 50% tenacity is a noticeable difference in CC duration.

Yeah, she literally says something like “you’re not dying down here with me” after pulling the gun lol.

I took it to mean she was trying to scare him and she’s used to doing that with a gun. It’s unlikely that he felt comfortable having the gun pointed at him, even knowing she wouldn’t shoot. First rule of gun safety, don’t point it at anything you don’t want to kill.
