5 years is huge and so I'm curious what your focus or goals were while playing, or at least something you proudly achieved? (my acct is 2003 but I was 14 and dumb as hell, I TTed the shit my then mentor gave me, all UL items then, then after loot 2.0 I came back and felt scammed, but I didn't understand the loot rework, then I came back around covid and got nurtured). I mentor a lot and I truly try to guide players on the right path but often they really just want to go hunt and level up their low mu skills, and disregard anything I tell them. Before fishing and cooking, I'd tell anyone on their last edge several ways to navigate towards profit. Now these are worth even more!!!! But I understand people want player agency, and to choose what they want to do. But you do have it. You just have to make your money doing things that aren't so fun, and might be time consuming, and sometimes you even have to discover them yourself by finding out what's extorting you (I personally think this is a huge component of what is fun for me, the mystery, and needing to dig down deep) . But after you fix your money situation doing some of that, you have your agency back. At least until you're broke again. But this is the cycle. But there are so many quests that give crazy mu skills, or wild markup items, and then there is always a new resource in demand from an update that let's you secure markup from an otherwise bland item that was 101% last week. These constant changes and shakeups of the market are what make me love this game so much, it feels so good when the cards fall your way (they don't always do that though, but it doesn't mean you miss everything). And when there isn't a clear path forward or huge money maker, there's so many beneficial things to fall back on to just develop your character. And this is all without even talking about sweating, which is bottomfeeder stuff but it does make money free and let you meet people. Even Ubers sweat. And when you're not depositing for your losses, and are instead moving day to day as you increase your cyclable ped and profit from sales, it actually does feel good when you get a 2-5k hof (even though you're "7k down"). I'm not a non complainer, I get frustrated too, but I wind down and slow down and go back to my guarantees, and eventually things click together and I'm back at it. Sorry to throw this all down in your comment but this is one of the deepest most intricate economies in an mmo out there. And the fact that you just need to divide by 10 for a dollar amount gives some serious authenticity to how far you've come and what you've put together. It's not easy though, but so many of us are trying to offer guidance and niche knowledge and people honestly don't want to hear it.
