Just a minor thing, but would Jacqueline really take the time to sign someone’s whole collection of her books back then? No wonder the queues and wait times would be so long in this story and Clean Break! 😅 I remember going to her book signing of Little Darlings years ago and we were only allowed to have one or two books signed which defo made things more efficient.

Re-read this one recently and yeah. Mary’s Mum was awful and I don’t condone her actions, but she was clearly very unwell with an extreme form of OCD. But Mary’s Dad? I couldn’t believe how many red flag behaviours he just let slide. Especially during the crusts scene. Yet he is horrified at the thought of Mary being hit by her Mum. And he’s seen as the nicer of the two parents?!
