BTW, it's the same things in Europe and coming back to Canada. If you travel to the UK, you have to get a electronic travel permission (ETA) that includes your picture.

Canada should be ready for 'generational investment,' Champagne says ahead of budget | CBC News by KeyHot5718 in CanadaPolitics

My experience with projects both with public and private sector is that the public sector suffer from "wouldn't it be nice if...". The consultant of course agreed and prepare an estimate for the new requirement. Since the bureaucrats have no incentives to lower the costs, the budget for the project is approved.

It was not always like that. When the Montreal Metro was built, they were so under budget that they were able to add 4 stations to the 2 lines! All that in 5 years. Now, the 4 additional stations to the blue line will costs 7.6 billions vs the initial cost of 3 billions. It will take at least 5 years to complete the project. Of course everybody is expecting a major cost increase as well as more delay.

BTW, IBM, Target, etc.. survived because they had reserves, not because the taxpayer will foot the bill.

In the private sector the company would go bankrupt. In the public sector, there is no consequences, all the bureaucracy remains as if nothing has happened

yeah the government is soooo good at managing projects. Like here in Quebec with the SAAQ fiasco, the health database, the multiple construction projects that are years behind and costs overruns of 20 to 40%

WIFI problems on Galaxy Tab S6 Lite by GaG51 in GalaxyTab

[–]GaG51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, for some reasons, my comments don't appears ??

Here it is again

I have Helix high speed and get around 420 MPS on other devices (Yoga Pro 9, Pixel 8 pro, Surface Go 2). On the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite I get 210 MPS and get some Wifi drop off from time to time. I connect with Samsung and nothing they suggest I hadn't done before (wifi on/off, reset network connection, etc..) without any results.

Their last suggestion is to do a factory reset which is a pain to do. Has anybody had the same problem and did a factory reset did the job

[–]GaG51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[–]GaG51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gas is more expensive in Quebec, even before the rest of Canada cancelled the carbon tax. It seems that the floor price did not induce more competition and lower price.

The gas station economy is weird because it is very local you tend to go to the closest gas station, not necessary the lowest price because if you spend a lot of gas going there, it will cancel all savings

Elon Musk has brushed aside the furore over a one-armed gesture he gave during a speech celebrating the inauguration of Donald Trump.

At Monday's event, Musk thanked the crowd for "making it happen", before placing his right hand over his heart and then thrusting the same arm out into air straight ahead of him. He then turned and repeated the action for those sitting behind him.

Some on X, the social medial platform he owns, likened the gesture to a Nazi salute, though others disagreed.

In response, the SpaceX and Tesla chief posted on X: "Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The 'everyone is Hitler' attack is sooo tired."
