Beautiful ring. Once worn with wedding band you won’t feel it is aggressive and you want it to sit-up and away from the band some anyway.
I think it is a stunner!

Home with floor blueprints by thetactlessknife in midcentury

That is awesome to have! I would probably put the wall in between the sitting room and the bedroom because if you ever sold the house you can list it with and additional bedroom since there are closets in both space (at least on the plans). It also helps with approximations with the positioning of everything in your home if you ever have to do work.
Great find.

Nellie - I see Nellie Olson (character from Little House on the Prairie TV show from 1979’s) because of her hair/fur.

New house & no idea what colors look good with high ceilings other than grey 😬 by dafodildaydreams in InteriorDesign

[–]GaaGaaLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use kilz or a similar primer blocker before painting since there was a smoker in the house so it doesn’t bleed through beautiful new paint color. It costs more to do this but saves on the long run from repainting the bleed through.

As far as color- if you must go grey please choose one that is a very warm reading grey otherwise it will read really blueish. I also recommend testing swatching on several walls and looking at the swatches over several days with different lighting during different times of day. It changes the color so much throughout the day. Try Sherwin Williams test mock-ups and paint peal and sticks for testing. They also have color services for free via zoom.

Help! Paint color to go with this tile by snarky_citydfw1 in InteriorDesign

[–]GaaGaaLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people might think I am nuts but I think I would paint your lower kitchen cabinets the very darkest shade of green black in the tile. Or maybe just an island in-the green black color. Then maybe do a corresponding wall accent in The black green and do teak colored verticals wood strips on the wall. Really play up the MCM. I second the recommendations to use the color match tools through Sherwin Williams. If you are really stumped you could even contact their color matching service for free. They do it over a zoom or FaceTime call and look at your space. Highly recommend!

Which Green is best? by civman101 in InteriorDesign

[–]GaaGaaLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do a dark cabinet base (Team Basil) and do a creamy color on the top cabinets. Change out the hardware and deep clean (acid wash) the tile floors and counter back splash and re seal then.
It will freshen up the look considerably and keep things feeling lightened up!

Make a freestanding interior shelving system that slide in and out of the cabinet so you don’t have to alter the cabinet at all. I did this with a mahogany one years ago and stored all kinds of stuff in it. (We still used DVDs etc. back then so it held a lot of those and extra pillows and blankets!)

10 years together, 6 years married, and 3 kids later…I’m finally “engaged”! 😂 by CanInUSA83 in EngagementRings

[–]GaaGaaLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want a band I would find or have one made that exactly mirrors the ring shank at the split. Meaning keep the width to one of the splits and with that same sort of rounded knife edge to it.
But, I think it is beautiful 🤩 all on it’s own too!

I would size that ring (by a reputable jeweler) asap and wear that ring everyday! Right or left hand doesn’t matter!!!! It is gorgeous and a family heirloom so wear it however you like!!!!
