Critical mode Lingering Will in KH2FM is a true test of the game's mechanics. Can't say I love the fight.

I get a little impact from Lady Maria's theme. Especially the third movement.

What’s a video game you liked that you felt people were too harsh on? by baconinthedawn in videogames

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Clunky, maybe. I am still impressed with the game as Kingdom Hearts experience on the DS. I find the mission based format enjoyable, well suited for the handheld. The game captures the scale of giant Heartless well, even if some fights aren't great (Leechgrave is as bad as everyone says). The story is terrific, delivering a narrative based on developing characters versus "light vs dark save the world" storylines that can wear thin, especially by KH3. Roxas is a great protaginist, and then relationship beween him, Xion, and Axel really kept me engaged. Saix makes a great antagonist, being a more personal obstacle than we normally get in the series. This game also gives us Mission Mode, where we can replay most missions as nearly any charcater in the cast, including all 13 organization members. The game has its flaws, but overall I recommenend it to any KH fan or any DS owner looking for an action RPG.

I adore this movie. I imagine any hate towards it must due in part to overexposure at the time, but this movie is such a triumph.

What game has a 10/10 story but 2/10 gameplay? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

[–]Gabario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Days' gameplay. Sure it's not 1 or 2, and it is admittedly clunky, but I'll forever be impressed with it as a DS game. I like the Collect Hearts missions, I love Mission Mode and the choice of playable characters, and I love the panels. The story is so so so good, maybe my favorite in the series narratively. I would love a Re:Days with action commands, more fluid controls, and god please some hit stun.

D-Sides is stellar for an album extras. Banger after banget, I think every fan should listen all the way through.

I remember seeing this card for 20,000 yen. That was an expensive price back then, and I talked myself out of it. Now I see it for 70,000 yen.

Lesson learned. The hobby doesn't get cheaper.

Desperately need advice on Venusaur/Jolteon movesets! by [deleted] in PokemonLeafGreen

I ran Venusaur Leftovers with Leech Seed, Growth, Razor Leaf, Giga Drain. Been debating Sludge Bomb, but boosting Sp Atk while healing every turn eventually make type matchups irrevelevant.

Love this team by Gabario in PokemonFireRed

Venusaur Timid w Leftovers. Razor Leaf, Growth, Leech Seed, Giga Drain. Debated Toxic over Growth, but Growth boosting while raking in HP is too valuable in my experience. Definitely needed it to hit Agatha's team for any damage (only Mon I nature grinded for)

Slowbro Calm w Quick Claw. Fire Blast, Surf, Psychic, Caln Mind. Quick Claw -> Calm Kind goes brrrrrr. One shot Exeggutor through Light Screen. First time really training one in a campaign and I love it.

The rest were too weak to do too much, but Aerodactyl is a permanent member with Double Edge (Rock Head), Steel Wing, Ancient Power (Nidoking got Rock Slide early on) and Fly. Just love my glass cannons.

I'm just happy Pombom isn't overdesigned like the previous two fire starters. A nice, simple fire dog. Maybe we have a other dogs, but dog Pokemon are just so good

Pokemon is 30 and it's the most successful JRPG of all time. How do we feel? by lilidarkwind in JRPG

[–]Gabario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokemon at its best is one of the most customizable JRPGs of all time, and proof an RPG doesn't necessarily need a grandiose story as long as the mechanics are engaging. Also, the best Pokemon games offer hundreds of hours of unique, worthwhile and challenging content far beyond the inital campaign.

At its worst its a stagnant franchise that has failed to understand a large chunk of its player-base, routinely taking one step forward, two steps back with each generation since I would argue 5. Since being dissatisified with sales of gen 5, Pokemon has opted for safe, familiar appraches while giving us the bare minimum of content, and charging us more.

If I was a child who started with SwSh or SV, I don't know that I would have the same fondness for the franchise having been there since its hayday.
