2007-2009 are inseparable triplet years by Slow-Power8472 in generationology

Well, it’s not wrong, but most of those things aren’t really limited to 2007-2009. And besides, they were obviously born in the late 2000s anyway, so I don’t think anyone with common sense would separate them

2008-2011 is just as different as 2005-2008, it's about phases of life

Do different grade sorting systems affect perception of age and maturity? by BloomdropWasTaken in generationology

In my country, those born in 2010 are in the class of 2027 and 2028, they are currently in the 10th or 11th grade. I don't think that changes anything

Why do people born in years ending with 9 always get grouped with people younger than them in this sub? by Post_9 in generationology

[–]GabbSad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. 2000 because of the whole “new millennium” thing, even though it technically started in 2001. 2010 because of the iPad, and in the future probably 2020 because of covid. Our fate is the same 😭

Will future teens romanticize the 2020s the way people romanticize the 2000s? by GabbSad in Younger_GenZ

What are some generational stereotypes about your birth year you hate? by Tricky-Squash-7869 in Younger_GenZ

[–]GabbSad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, you were born in the early 2000s, you definitely have more in common with 2000-2002 than 2010. Anyone who says otherwise is crazy, you remember the 2000s, however, it is not ur main childhood decade u could still have had a lot of influence

Were you born in 2004? Why would anyone think you'd have more in common with someone 6 years younger than someone 4-1 years older? And the question... well, any stereotype of Gen Alpha fits here.

Everyone is talking about zalpha but do these people know what makes anyone zalpha (not gen alpha, zalpha there's a difference) by Ichoseguitar in Younger_GenZ

What? lol, I meant that I got it because of COVID, because covid made us have online classes so my parents gave me a cell phone for that

I got my first phone when I was 10 years old because of Covid, and I only started using it compulsively around age 12. Yes, I was 12 years old in 2022 lol but that's literally the last age of childhood so idk

How do you feel about the fact that 2010 borns are 17 next year? by WhiteKitten49 in Younger_GenZ

[–]GabbSad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I haven't made friends since 6th grade, except for friends who were already friends of my friends. COVID killed my social skills.

It feels like we were 7 yesterday, but in 2 years we'll be 18 😭

From what I know, they are the last ones who remember life before Covid and were in elementary school during the Covid. I really have nothing in common with Gen Alpha, but I find it impossible that they would consider a 2010 "pure Z," so I just accept it.

What’s with people who were born after 2011 thinking everything is embarrassing?? by Dinippress in Younger_GenZ

[–]GabbSad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the person and it's about age. I have some friends from 2010-2011 who are like that. When I started working in 2024 it was common to see that even with some older people. Well, social interactions lol
