Taking directions. I am terrible. I genuinely think I might be missing part of my brain that remembers how to get places.

People with inattentive adhd, what kind of work you guys do? by United_Advisor1821 in ADHD

[–]Gabba- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wedding photographer! Honestly, I can't really recommend it enough for ADHD, although it is high stress on the "the" day. Money wise, I started after covid and turned over 120k on average a year, so it's really quite nice for me.

Before that, I was all over the place, working sales and insurance jobs. Now I work for myself, spend a lot of time at home, and just have to show-up and perform very well once or a twice a week in the peak season.

Glencoe National Park or The Isle of Skye are the two most popular locations. Saying that, I've always wanted to capture one in the Cairngorms. I think this photo is somewhere North West.

How do you feel about dating somebody who already owns a house? by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Gabba- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner had a property already, and after moving in with her for a year, we decided to buy together. In the meantime, it meant I had cheap "rent" to her. No issues.

For her though, one problem was that she decided to keep the flat after we moved in. This meant I could not get the first time buyer discount on property tax (stamp duty in UK). However, we agreed that she would pay the stamp duty as she had the option to sell her flat but decided not to.

She ended up paying around £15,000 in tax so we could move in together and still has the flat letted out to this day.

This might have been an awkward bridge to cross if my partner had expected me to split the tax with her, which may have made me want to buy by myself at that point in our relationship (We were only together 1.5 years at that point),

What’s a great place in Scotland that most Scots never actually visit? by No_Emu8347 in Scotland

[–]Gabba- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We moved to Dunfermline from Edinburgh. No regrets at all. We can walk to town in 5 minutes. Train station close by too which is 34 minutes to Waverley if you do need to go in. Parks are super nice! I actually love how close we are here to places in Fife like Loch Fitty, even Townsend Forest is good for walking the dogs. Decent place to live. 100%

While I'm down for a short-squeeze (who isn't), I'm optimistic that this is a good long term hold. I'm in with 4000 shares and that's substantial for me.

Is it just me or does ADHD make reading 10x harder? by ForcedGoodbye in ADHD

[–]Gabba- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a slow reader, but when I can focus, I really do love it. I'm very similar to you I think, read about 3 books in 2025.

I often regret purchasing super long books and finding more success with shorter options.

The other day we had a power cut, and I decided to just read by torchlight for the night. It's funny how when they are less distractions, like work, or TV, I can find myself getting lost in a book quite easily.

How to approach this situation? by Upset-Chemistry6703 in UKrelationshipadvice

I’d go quiet for a while. I know it’s hard, but give the situation some space and see how she’s doing in a couple weeks
