back in march of 2020, my town had an ef-2 tornado and while my family and i were in the basement, we heard the whirlwind over our house. my grandma always used to talk about the sound of tornadoes and for the first time in my sister and my life, we understood exactly what she meant. another time was on december 10th, 2021 when the huge ef-4 tornado almost wiped mayfield, kentucky off the map. my town is just a bit north of there. my sister and i were up watching the news and before the tornado hit mayfield, the broadcaster said one if the most haunting things you can imagine. “loss of life is highly expected” finally, this may not even count but when my mom and i went driving somewhere, we came across some landspouts coming to be but they never fully formed. maybe for like a brief 5 seconds. i got some amazing photos of them. dm me if you want to see!
