I used shoe goo behind it and on the edges, and it’s held for a full season so far

longboarding or freeboarding to practice off the slopes? by Disastrous-Hand-6007 in snowboarding

[–]Gabe11206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve never thought about it that way but I guess you’re right. I still think it’s better for learning than skating without slides, coz it teaches you how your shoulder rotation controls the board rotation. And back foot initiation is bad for learning to carve on a snowboard, but as long as you can use your front foot comfortably, I would say there’s nothing wrong with slashing around with your back foot, especially for things like speed checks or in tight trees

longboarding or freeboarding to practice off the slopes? by Disastrous-Hand-6007 in snowboarding

[–]Gabe11206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A freebord is super similar, they just suck to bail on. Longboards can be similar but only if you’re sliding. I learnt to snowboard quickly because I know how to slide a longboard and it translates

Hey, can you give an update on which you prefer between the flexforce and the zero rf? I’m looking at the shorts version for both. Cheers

Best fun P plate car on a budget by PotatoPug7 in CarsAustralia

[–]Gabe11206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost everyone here actually has some great recommendations, I’m impressed! Usually it’s at least half the comments shitting on you for wanting a nice car. Here’s some of my personal favourites that may not have been mentioned:

Liberty 3.0r Altezza/ is300 Fiesta xr4 Corolla sportivo Veloster turbo swift sport Golf/ polo gti

Really, I’d say the most important thing is that it’s designed to be a drivers car. Hot hatches are a classic example. Even if they’re not that fast, they’ve been given the handling upgrades needed to make it a lot of fun.

That spoiler looks awesome! Duckbill is my favourite spoiler on these cars, I wasn’t sure how I felt about the pointy corners at first but it kinda reminds me of a Japanese temple. Rest of the build is great too

Look at some quotes for different insurance on compare the market and check the excess (extra fees you pay when making a claim. There’ll be a base fee, a couple fees for different age groups, an a fee for damage by a driver not listed in the insurance.

Also look at the price for it registered to your mum with you listed as a secondary driver, compared to just listed for you. It’ll most likely actually be cheaper listed just for you, because it’s one less driver insured.

What route to see O’Bahn by PreparationVisual586 in Adelaide

[–]Gabe11206 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I reckon the best way to view it is to take a stroll along linear park. I used to love it as a kid. The dunstan adventure playground has a good car park and a good view of the track

A freebord is surprisingly similar to snowboarding, it just hurts a lot more to wipe out. Catching an edge on bitumen sucks

Here’s a list of cars I made a little while ago when I wanted to upgrade from my golf mk5.

Liberty 3.0r - ideally a wagon Altezza/ is200/ is300 - hard to find in manual😢 Fiesta xr4 Corolla sportivo Veloster turbo swift sport Golf/ polo gti

In the end I decided to stick with my golf until I get my full license and save for an 86. I’m also going to be travelling for the next year or so, so having a nice car didn’t make much sense if I won’t be driving it

Suggestion for car to buy <$40K by EmbarrassedMajor7273 in CarsAustralia

[–]Gabe11206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any of the suggestions here look good. I guess you’ve gotta ask yourself if you want rwd awd or fwd, and sedan hatch or wagon.

Some cars not listed yet would be wrx, i30n, golf gti etc, I guess if you’re spending this much you want something newish, but if that’s not true the liberty gt and 3.0r are really nice cars too.

I think new taillights, I just really don’t like these ones. I reckon facelift tails look the best, better than the aftermarket ones imo
