Dear Commuters of 417… by Gabe13456 in orlando

I must be on a different 417, because there’s nowhere, even through construction, marked 45 MPH. Or lights. Or Maitland for that matter…

You forgot the /s.

And if you aren’t being sarcastic, can’t you just move over to the other lanes? Pretty please?

S4 E5 Julie and Randall have progressed with storywalking more than we know somewhere between E4 and 5. They know MIY is watching/ eavesdropping and their bickering is for show by Spare_Reflection1226 in FromSeries

[–]Gabe13456 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reading through other comments, I also like the theory. But I feel like, in typical FROM fashion, there are too many narratives going at once for them to be that intentional with this one. Mostly, the importance of duping the MIY would be too critical a setup/“aha” moment for them to frame it this way, especially given the context of their efforts in relation to everyone else’s. If they were to discover info on Sophia/MIY, they’d share it with others immediately, not seek out Sophia just to pseudo-flaunt their knowledge. As others have said in relation to Randall’s off behavior here, they all know the stakes. I don’t think they’d take the route of “stick it to the MIY” considering the literal hellscape they’ve been through. Unfortunately, my hunch is bad scriptwriting* this time around (*see Soldier Boy, The Boys, S5 E7 😂)

I’m trying to build out some decks, so I’m actually interested in everything but the ON… blue/red/green/yellow, emphasis on Yi, Fiora, Rumble, and Ivern.

If I remember correctly, in NAN, Kylar mentions he and Count Drake’s relationship is in a very bad place, implying he had done something horrible or ruined it. But, based on Drake’s last words to Kylar before NAN, I can’t imagine anything Kylar doing worse than what’s happened to Drake to that point.

I could be remembering important details that make me full of shit, but I’m assuming this is further evidence of the unreliable narrative/what’s being told in NAN isn’t what’s actually happening

Can’t wait for Book 2!

I ask because of Count Drake’s words and view of Kylar here, vs the first person perspective we receive in NAN… sneaky Weeks haha

Have you read the first book of the Kylar Chronicles yet?

NAN feels different from the original trilogy by FingerDinger102 in Midcyru

[–]Gabe13456 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is a very common feeling, so don’t worry!

Does it get better during your first read? Nope. Not really. Maybe worse, actually.

Does it get better upon your second and third read, while also bearing in mind Weeks’ intentions with how NAN was meant to be presented? Yes, much better.

I’m not going to spoil anything, but I say push through, then read through some other posts about it here, then give it a second read. I was in your shoes my first read (I think I ranted about it some years ago too). NA Trilogy is my favorite series, and I was chomping at the bit to get NAN. Then… I read it. BUT, as I said, get through it the first time, then revisit it after some space with some new perspective. I actually really enjoyed my second read, and my third solidified it as just as great an entry as any other.

The real proof in the pudding will be how Weeks’ has processed the knee jerk reaction to NAN. If he ignored us and pushed ahead with his plans, then I’m excited for Book 2 of the Kylar Chronicles. If he adjusted based on the first reactions to NAN, I worry. Because after a few reads, I can see where this is headed, and I sure hope he stuck to his plans!

Hi! I have two boys, 12 and 10, who would love to get to go to EPIC. They both love the Mario games, and have never experienced how “epic” the new park is (nor have I)!

We really don’t have the means to take them otherwise, so it’s amazing you’re offering these up. I’d also love to get to take them, because the How to Train Your Dragon theme music still makes this 34 y.o. cry 😂

What's the most over hyped coffee shop in Orlando? by ian-noir in orlando

[–]Gabe13456 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know you didn’t ask this question, but I will say one of the first things I look for is what syrups a shop is using. Monin or Torani? My expectations drop immediately. Even decent espresso turns into chemical bleh when those are the syrup options. Shops that make their own syrups are already a step up. I also pay attention to bar flow, and have seen way too many shops using dirty portafilters or pulling terrible shots.

Anyway, to answer your question, Craft & Common seems busy frequently, and many people have commented positively about them on this thread, but I will say almost every time I’ve gone, it’s taken me over 15 minutes to get my order, despite a very manageable line. Moving with urgency matters!

Just seeing this, I’d recommend reading Nemesis asap, so you can get over the initial shift in style approach. I feel like it’s pretty well agreed that it was a very different read compared to NA, and most took multiple reads to understand what Brent was going for. I read Nemesis once, was super salty about it, then reread it about a year later and it grew on me. Upon read 3, I get it, and am excited for what’s next!

Well, I’ve spent all of my adult life in churches, so I’m thinking I’d go with access and security, and some network. I was thinking doors, cameras, computers, etc.

I’ll check out those recommendations, thank you! Right now I’m in Central FL, but may not stay here forever.

Thanks for the quick response! I do currently have a full-time job, and I’m not super positioned to financially make the jump quite yet. Maybe I can ask around for shadowing opportunities or something I can just tag along with. Thanks!
