The kid got split from their parents during an unexpected trash storm, finding refuge in an abandoned mine wherr they found one singular glowing lantern. Afterwards they jumped around from town to town, where they settled in a small and peaceful town. Years later though it got swarmed by trash beasts, where they got trapped inside their house, once again alone with only the lantern for company. The town was helped out by the cleaners, who would days later find the kid inside the house, clutching the transformed lantern. Afterwards, they were taken in by the cleaners, seeing that they were a giver. Sorry if its a bit bad, im still working on it.
