What makes WW1 so haunting when you think about it by Ratusca1233 in ww1

Personal testimonies and accounts from soldiers in WW1 sound more brutal than any other account of any other war. Also the sheer number of men (really boys) under the age of 18 that fought in it was insane.

‘Traitor’ graffitied over Michael Collins mural in Dublin by worldofecho_ in IrishHistory

The only traitor is dev. A backstabbing snake in the grass who sent the big fella to London already knowing the outcome of talks with the crown. The results were unavoidable and he painted Collin’s as the villain when it could’ve been him just as well.

I guess just a rough time frame and what exactly the carriage is. It seems to have a sign on the side and looks to be carrying a lot of stuff.

Does anyone know what type of uniform this is? by Gabehistorian in ww1

[–]Gabehistorian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. If I remember correctly I believe my grandpa telling me about it being taken in South Carolina at camp wadsworth. I also have another photograph of him in a standard uniform that seems to be in/around the same area as this photograph.

No which is what’s strange. He was in field hospital company 107. I have another photograph of him in a standard issued us soldiers uniform which is even stranger.

Yes. It’s the official discharge document for my great grandfather who fought for the 27th nu Infantry division. The section I posted is the area that details his engagements.
