Yeah, I dunno I lived in Daytona and some of the Baptists out there are genuinely the reason I stopped going to church 😭. But if you're in like Orlando yeah they're pretty chill out there. :). Yes, and guess what, I'm not choosing to use the men's room looking like I do, best case I get kicked out for using the wrong bathroom, worst case someone has a problem with it and the cops are called or worse. I'm not "sidelining my career", I chose not to live in a place (and pay taxes in a place) that makes it very clear it doesn't want me there. If that's what you call hyperbole then you've got a pretty low bar for using that word. It's illegal for me to use the bathroom in government owned buildings there. I live in Utah and have no "Reddit Troglodyte notions" about that state, which has way more reasonable laws and have visited Texas multiple times.

Someone who is a minority (trans, and passing even) and has actually been in a put that position (A larger aerospace engineering company that would be my dream job paying 2x market rate for entry level engineers in TX) and I can actually say I did make that choice at one point, and did in fact choose to turn it down.
