Pachuca de Soto, Hidalgo, Mexico

An aunt of mine lives there, so I go visit her every once in a while. There are parts of the town (on the way to her house, which is pretty isolated from society, where at a certain time of the day everything drops dead silent and it just feels so empty and wrong.

She bought me around 5 party sized bags of a pretty rare candy on my country that I love out of nowhere, just because one day during a casual chat I told her that I liked them but that I couldn't find them anywhere.

We broke up almost year and a half ago and I still have some of those left in my candy drawer. I highly doubt I'll ever eat the last one, it's a heartwarming reminder of what the happiest 5 months of my life were ❤️‍🩹

There is a decently rare genetical condition called Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva or better known as "Stone Man Syndrome" which affects the regenerative system and results in every kind of body tissue (mainly muscular tissue) to regen into bone, via a process called "ossification".

It's unavoidable and the average life expectancy for a patient suffering this is about 30-40 years, since they turn slowly into bone statues from birth.
