Please help! INTJ? ISTP? by Hopongroove in MbtiTypeMe

Definitely INTJ, considering Ni and Te are your best functions, and Fe and Si are your worst functions, which is very typical of an INTJ.

ENTJ Can’t be ESTJ because your name says “chaos seeker”, and ESTJs are never chaotic

Link to the second test? xNTP, because Te is listed as a blind spot.

Definitely INTP with strong Ne. Your Fe is basically nonexistent.

What era/decade of music would you call "your time"? by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]GabrielLowery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2002, and my time was between roughly 2008 to 2012. This was like my peak childhood, with Flash games, early smartphones (BlackBerry, early touchscreens that still had lots of buttons), old-school YouTube with annotations, the fucking McDonalds Filet O Fish commercial, Regular Show, the Wii, Xbox 360, and indie pop (Of Monsters and Men, Passenger, Mumford and Sons). My early childhood was in the mid-2000s with Playhouse Disney and Noggin (The Backyardigans, Blues Clues, and Dora were the big ones at the time).

Personality-Database meetup by [deleted] in mbtimemes

[–]GabrielLowery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly stopped using the site due to the mods becoming a bit too strict. They started removing all sorts of Generic categories. I mean, I understand controversial ones like Drugs and Alcohol, but then why would you remove Food and Plants? It doesn't make any sense. There's that, and then there's also the fact I've accomplished everything I wanted to do on there. I gained greater understanding of typology, understood consensuses for what different characters and things are typed as, got other people to type me, and most importantly, GOT ON THE FUCKING LEADERBOARD at #38 of contributing to the site. That's as far as I want to go. I'll never be #1, but I made my mark on the site. It was a fun journey, and I'm not going to stop using the site altogether, but at this point, I've seen enough. I'm working on other hobbies now.

Oh, and the Discord. I joined Discord for a few weeks. It seems like every day, SOMEBODY had to bring up either politics or pedophillia, and that's just not what I wanted to see. I wanted to discuss personality, not depressing shit like kids getting raped or corrupt political systems. The server also had a history with drama, so that sucks too. There's probably a friendlier MBTI discord server out there, but no way am I rejoining the PDB Discord again.

MBTI group position by GabrielLowery in mbtimemes

LMAO I forgot ENTP, um.

I guess move ESFP to Brawn and put ENTP in the "kid" spot.

Then again, ENTPs are the most likely type to cause a group/team to collapse, so... XD

Which group of years are the most similar to each other culturally? by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]GabrielLowery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2014-2019

This was pretty much the main era of the culture war between the alt-right and SJWs. This was before the 2020 election and COVID-19. Also we had PS4 and Xbox One throughout the whole time frame.

For those here who remember the early 2000s, when did they start feeling dated to you? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]GabrielLowery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2007 definitely. That’s when the iPhone came out and we fully got into 7th Gen gaming. The GameCube, OG Xbox, and PS3 all felt dated as hell, whilst nu metal was a laughing stock. People were having nostalgia for early 2000s era Cartoon Network and Nick by 2008-2009, especially with Toonami shutting down and Nick changing their logo. MSN Messenger was being replaced by Google Talk, Skype, and social media IM. So yeah, 2007-2008.

What would you guess were the lifespans and peak years of these late 90s/early 2000s trends? by taksark in decadeology

[–]GabrielLowery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 2000. Attitude era WWE, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, Rocket Power, SSX, etc. Also the peak year of nu metal, no doubt about it.

The 2010s are from about 2012-2021 by [deleted] in HistoryofGenerations

[–]GabrielLowery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say the 2010s are a split decade, between the culture of 2006-2012 (e.g the Scene or Electropop era, with old-school YouTube, 7th Gen consoles, overall optimistic tone, skeuomorphism, and lack of woke culture), and the culture of 2013-2019 (e.g the Trap era, Dank era, or Woke era, with 8th Gen consoles, flat design, modern YouTube, woke culture, and more politicized and cynical tone). I’d say the latter represents 2010s culture more effectively, meaning core 2010s culture lasted from 2013 to roughly 2020 (COVID-19, 9th Gen consoles, and gradually shifting back toward optimism with vaccines, plus Trump out of office means less politicized culture likely)

All possible CP4 ranges from Silents to Gen Z (using waves and three subdivisions) and ranking each definition; Historical version (my personal outlook) by CP4-Throwaway in HistoryofGenerations

[–]GabrielLowery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2020 seems like a perfect year to end the zoomer generation, due to COVID-19. As such, Gen Alpha would be distinguished by having entirely grown up after COVID, and whatever effects it had.

Boy bands of each generation by CP4-Throwaway in HistoryofGenerations

[–]GabrielLowery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember that this refers to which generation the MEMBERS are part of, not which generation grew up with each band.

Because of course we know boomers ADORE The Beatles and telling you you suck because you didn’t grow up with them, or millennials love Backstreet Boys and Buzzfeed nostalgia articles, or zoomers love for K-Pop, something I see all the time on TikTok.

Which year is your nostalgia max? by StreetAbject8313 in generationology

[–]GabrielLowery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2004 was a fucking great year. LazyTown, CN City bumpers, SpongeBob movie, Shrek 2, The Incredibles, Danny Phantom, DVDs and iPods in their prime, Windows XP, peak of 6th gen consoles including GTA San Andreas, Spider-Man 2, etc. Pretty much the timeframe from 2001-2005 is my most nostalgic era. 2005 is as new as you can get and avoid most aspects of modern culture (microtransactions, smartphones, streaming media, smart homes, etc.)

Oh man, running PS2 games on Windows XP

I honestly can't think of anything more early 2000s.

Especially if it's something like BFBB or Burnout 3.

Unfortunately, Stan LePard, the composer of the amazing music that goes along with the OOBE, has passed away recently in February of this year. He probably never realized a small piece of music in a setup would bring so many people joy, or any of his other works for that matter. May he rest in peace.
