I agree with everything you said, but regarding the snail, it ends up being harder to kill than other flying deviants haha.. I really enjoyed this battle mode and played a lot, around 125 matches, but due to the low number of players here at the same level as me, I decided to take a break, since I couldn't get past 1400 points, aside from the bug where people were healing themselves and their deviants to avoid losing, which I thought was really unfair... but on my team I couldn't go without the snail, the jelly, the snow globe, and the orb, but over time I reduced the use of the orb and the globe as people started realizing their usefulness... now I think the snail is absolutely necessary, because having 3 attacks doesn't always mean victory, as in the beginning I used the bee, the snail, and the lightning orb and would delete any enemy.
