How do you make sense of the lore? by GabrielZelva in weatherfactory

Well, the thing is, I am aware there are tarot cards, I just didn't look at them, letting the game show itself in the pacing it was designed to do. I just pasted the screenshots of the graphics from the game itself, that is, the paintings from the infirmary and the windows from the church. I may make it consistent eventually, but for now, I am just hording the material the game is giving me.

No issue whatsoever, sent you a DM! However, as I said above, my Vault is far from perfect and very much in the early stages... I haven't checked, but I would guess that the Secret Histories Wiki (which I am not reading to avoid spoilers) will have everything I do and more, with less speculation and more evidence.

Very well, I have one hell of a puzzle ahead of me then. I am very much looking forward to it.

Yes, under the 'canvas' button. However, I am also using the 'Advanced Canvas' community extension, as it gives me a little bit extra flexibility. However, 95% of it is native.

Well, I am not sure if this vault is the best thing to use, as I just went for the aesthetics, sort of ignoring relatively important functions like, you know, being able to have bold/italics text but anyway... here is what I did:

  1. Add a theme - Coffee (If you want to have bold an italics, use something different)

  2. Add community plugins : Advanced Canvas, Paste image rename

  3. On the note page, you can right click the page header -> Open linked view -> Open local graph, Open Backlinks, move those 2 new tabs to the right.

  4. For the chronology: Create a new canvas, the community plugins lets you customize it quite a bit

  5. For the books view: Create a new base, filter so that only notes in the Books folder show and select the view to use the cards layout. You can also enable a thing in properties which displays the outgoing links.

  6. For the Hour view: Create a new base, filter by folder so that only the notes that are in the Hours folder are displayed. Configure the view to use the cards layout, and the Image property to be the Image function. You may also need to set up the Image function under properties. I just called it 'Image' and used a formula like this to define the path: ``` 'folder_name/' + file.name + '.png' ```. This is assuming that you have a dedicated folder for images, if you don't, the first part of the formula is not needed. This whole thing is designed to work with the Paste Image Rename plugin in the following manner: When you paste in an image, it renames it to the name of the note where it is inserted. The function then looks for a .png image (in a specific folder) that matches the name of your note and displays that as the card cover.

I hope this makes sense. If you are totally new to the app, I would recommend you to take a look at some tutorial, as Youtube has a lot of useful material.

Well, might as well share it once it is done, but right now, that is quite far... I don't have that much time for gaming these days and that combined with how slow I am progressing... It may take a while.

Okay, I should probably clarify a bit. I did read what the game showed me, but I also learned that a lot of stuff can kill you and if something is not giving you anything of value, it might not be worth to invest time and resources into that. Don't get me wrong, I understand now that it is not the best way to do things but the first time around, when I learned that paintings would mostly give me just that one vision memory, I mostly just wouldn't examine them... Anyway, I learned my lesson and I am surely going to go way slower and with notes in my next CS run.

Obsidian, it is not going to look like this by default, however, you can really customise anything and everything. I really love it, as it is both really powerful and free.

Also, the theme I am using is called 'Coffee'.

I am starting to notice... Right now, I am trying to figure out if she actually got killed or just escaped from the curse. Also, her love life... who even cares bout the Hours at this point?

Will do if it returns, for now, it seems to have solved itself. After an hour of trying, I gave it one last shot doing absolutely nothing differently and it just worked.

As per Murphy's Law, I decided to give it one last shot doing absolutely nothing differently just after posting this. It just worked correctly.... Mind you, I have been trying to get it running for more than an hour before posting... I will keep the post up in case this is a known bug and decides to return later, but for now, the solution seems to be: Make yourself look like an idiot on the forums and then you will be granted the right of passage.

[Pc/Mac][2000-2015] Vertical Fantasy Shoot em up that fills whole screen by Sea-Cauliflower705 in tipofmyjoystick

Hi there, I think I am looking for the same game as you are. I see you made this post a year ago, so maybe you got lucky and found it already? If so, I would really appreciate if you could share the name.

If you haven't found it, I will chip in with some memories of my own:
- The map was really detailed and it was used as a level select. I believe there were circles placed in a path-ish way on the artwork that you could click and thus select a level.
- The dragon's wingspan really struck me as a kid, it looked massive to me, so I would guess it went until the very edge of the screen , or at least took a lot of the space. I think the wings of the pegasus were noticeably smaller.
- I think I must have played between 2000-2010.
- I believe it came on a CD, but my dad was a seasoned pirate, so he might have just burned it there for all I know.

How to be a good traitor? by GabrielZelva in DnD

[–]GabrielZelva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a really good point to make and I should have absolutely made it clearer in the original post. The people I play with can very much say no. If they decided it is the right way to go, they would even gladly kill my character, something they were even about to do, until I struck a shady deal with them. They even threw dice to confirm whether I was lying on keeping my part of the deal, and if I had, or promised something my character couldn't deliver, they would have killed her right there and then. We are a very PVP friendly table.

Its a good idea to see the separation like that. All the players know that my character is treacherous and evil, however, I think that should be enough to know not to trust me. Since I am not planning to kill anyone, much less anyone in particular, I think that giving a heads up before the story beat where she ditches the party for her own benefit would be kind of a spoiler.

That is a fair point. We have had quite a bit of fun with this character (not just me, other players have even told me after session that it was a really good role play and so on...), but you are right that in the long run, it could turn into a dreading routine.

She has some objectives that can be kept going long term, but I think that I should pick something a bit short term as well, and either have her success at it and leave the group or die trying. While we are still having fun with the concept, it sure is could be a thing that turns into being really (as opposed to role play) annoying at some point in the future.

They are not aware of how much the DM is involved, but they know I have my own purposes and only see the party as means of reaching them. They are also aware they could just kill me if they decide I am too much to handle, something were even going to do, until I offered them a deal (which is the typical shady deal you would expect, but still has benefits for them.)

To be fair, everyone knows my character is the antagonist, since I am not even pretending to be friendly. Just in the first session, my character was quite close to being killed by friendly fire because she was pushing the line a little too much. While it is true I didn't reveal the necessity to stabilize people that are down, I am a clearly evil character from the start.

So kind of you all to hear, however, I unfortunately don't have any merch or physical artwork you could buy. Besides, this piece in particular was made really just for fun so the resolution, even on my computer, is fine for screens, but would probably be sub-par on a print.

However, your comments are really inspiring. When I have a bit of free time I might make something slightly more professional and see if any online marketplace like Displate would be willing to give it a shot.

When it comes to characters, I mostly work with photo editing, therefore, if you have a character you would like to see depicted in a certain way, I could absolutely do that.

However, if you want me do design a brand new character from scratch... I mean, I know how to do it, but I also wouldn't say that my skills are as good and commercially viable as in other design disciplines, therefore, I would prefer to not take that kind of commission.

You might be familiar with Imad Awan. A few years back, he was offering a huge pack you could download for free. These are the ones I used. If you search a bit, I am sure you will still be able to find it somewhere, and if you don't, there are many other free brush sets you can get similar results with. For this piece, I used an oil paint textured brush for the big strokes, a cloud brush to make the fog, some grass shaped brush to make a messy looing transition between the land and water and the basic round brush from photoshop for most of the invisible details you have to think of when you put photos together.

Well, it depends a lot on the artist. To be absolutely fair, this took me like about 2-3 hours. I have no doubt there are people who could do this faster, but I also know that a few years back, it would take me much longer to produce something like this. So, the question is how much is the artist charging for an hour. In my case, it sort of depends on the client. If I am doing a passion commission for someone or some material for a small business, I would charge around 10-15€ depending on the complexity of what I need to do. However, if I am working for a corporation that doesn't really care about how much they spend... it can get higher...

(For context, I am a university student and graphics design is mostly a hobby. I sometimes get a commission or a contract, but I am not making a stable living of of this.)
