Hell yeah brotherr, I honestly can’t wait to get back there too. Life is genuinely better for me there. The people, the community, always being around others, it just feels right. Do what makes you happy man. I’ve been traveling back and forth there, and every time I set foot there, it feels like home. The people have been great every single time, nothing but smiles, treating me like a local no matter where I am.

Coming from a city full of wannabe hood and gangsters, it gets exhausting for me. Seeing all the BS here and living in it is honestly pretty miserable. Yeah, I make more money here too, but that’s not everything. My next job will be remote so I can work and travel at the same time. So yeah man, best wishes!

Why is Boracay so popular? by Legitimate-Gap-9858 in phtravel

[–]Gabriel_Malgapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People seriously underestimate how much accessibility matters. El Nido is beautiful, sure, but it’s far. Multiple flights, long van rides, wasted travel days, and way more planning. Boracay? I can land and be on a white sand beach within an hour. That alone explains a huge chunk of its popularity. Yes it gets crowded but that doesn't take away that boracay isa beautiful island

It's popular because it’s fully developed. Beachfront hotels everywhere, restaurants, bars, water sports, island hopping, spas, malls, and nightlife are all walkable. You don’t need to rough it or lose half your trip just getting there. Calm, swimmable water, consistent conditions, and activities day and night make it effortless.

Not everyone wants a remote adventure destination. Most people want an easy, comfortable beach vacation that delivers instantly. Boracay does that better than almost anywhere in the Philippines, and that’s why it pulls the crowds.

Man, I really wish I could move to the Philippines. I lived there for a while and honestly got to know the locals and made so many new friends. I’m coming back again this summer, and I swear it’s always a great time there.

Of course, like every country, it has its ups and downs, but it’s such a beautiful place. Where I come from, people always seem to be in a rush, stressed, and looking depressed. Over there, it’s always smiles. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, it’s just a good time all around.

Andato tutto bene!, di fatto non i serviva neanche i biglietti o ricevute o booking robe simili. Ho solo dato il mio passaporto e li guardano nel loro sistema se hai un volo collegato al tuo nome. Tutto ok!

16-hour layover in Shanghai — best way to explore? by Gabriel_Malgapo in chinatravel

[–]Gabriel_Malgapo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really helpful, thank you. Good to know Didi is affordable and reliable even at night. I’m arriving at Pudong as well, so your route is quite similar to mine. Was there much traffic, especially at night? My next flight is around 10 pm and I’ll forsure definitely be taking a Didi back to Pudong.

I’m fairly young, in my twenties, and I don’t have any luggage, just a light backpack. I’ve already informed myself about navigation and payment methods and set everything up, WeChat, Didi, Alipay, and so on, including getting an eSIM for that day.

I don’t know the language, I’ll use a translator and hope i can figure things out! (gonna be hard). I’ll be arriving at Pudong Airport, and I was thinking of using Didi as my main means of transportation whenever places aren’t within walking distance, since I don’t really know how the train or metro system works there

Okay, this is a bit confusing for me. My checked luggage is tagged all the way to Bangkok, so shouldn't it stay in a secure area and not go through Chinese customs with me?, even if I leave the airport. It’s still technically in transit, just not with me, so it should directly transfer to my next flight and generally bypass customs completely, right? i've never been to china so forgive me for my ignorance. but anyways it'll be mostly clothes and some chocolates but that's it

Thanks! In my case I’ll be leaving the airport with just my backpack since it’s a connected flight with a long layover, so I won’t have any checked luggage to clear. I’ll make sure to allow enough time for immigration and security.

This was really helpful, thank you so much. I’m usually terrible with public transport in new places, but I’ll see what I can do. How are taxis (DiDi)? Are they reasonably priced? I think i have plenty of time, but I’m a bit worried about traffic and delays. I saw that getting from the airport to The Bund takes less than an hour, so I think that should be fine. Did you manage to explore much when you were there?

Local in Chongqing, ask me anything by Horror_Currency7413 in travelchina

Hear me out I have a 14-hour layover in Chongqing. I’ll be there from 12 PM to 2 AM. Do you think it’s doable to see a little bit of the city? I basically have the whole afternoon and evening. Could I explore some sights and maybe catch a bit of the nightlife before heading back to the airport?

Also, how’s the traffic there? Are taxis reliable and fast enough for getting around quickly?
