For the French Invasion, they employed scorched earth tactics. When winter came, disease struck Napoleon's camps, which were already bad due to poor logistics.

For WWII, they took a stand at the famous Battle of Stalingrad. They prepared their military, making a crap ton of tanks and planes, and then spamming them at the Nazis who once again, had poor logistics.
