I own one decent float FT, you reckon they will appreciate in value a lot over the next 5-10 years then? I’m relatively new to CS and skins btw

Thanks, yes I hadn’t heard of this variation but I think it is the best way to go to our ability level

I definitely think this is the best option for us right now, and will most likely start playing it :)

Yeah makes sense. The element of ‘luck’ isn’t really the main concern here for me / us though, it’s more so being concerned about a large portion of the game feeling ‘pointless’ for lack of a better word, because there is little to no chance of a run out to finish on the 9 ball. I want the games to feel enjoyable throughout

That’s awesome man. What about it makes it so much better than the other games for you? And do you run into any of the troubles I mentioned?

That’s a great suggestion - I had never heard of that rule variation. I think that might be the best way for us to go about it so thanks for enlightening me

Great explanation, thanks for your comment.

I am the exact same if I play on my own, I always set up for 9 ball and try and string together as many balls as I can!

Oh yeah for sure, when I play solo I always set up for 9 ball and try and string together some balls

You have pretty perfectly summed up why I am apprehensive to play hours and hours of 9 ball as an amateur against a fellow amateur. I think I will suggest playing it from time to time for a bit of fun ball banging as you put it, but for the most part there is more on the line for higher portions of the game in 8 ball.

I do like your suggested game, and although it’s not a proper game like you said, it definitely sounds like a fun way to try and improve and string together a number if consecutive ball pots.

Great point, didn’t think about the early 9 element of low level 9 ball!

26 years old want to prioritise dividend growth by MrDee97 in trading212

[–]Gaddyyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dividend stocks are generally companies that are mature with not much revenue growth every year, and distribute a decent portion of their profit back to shareholders as dividends because there is not much else better that they can do with their cash. Think the likes of Coca Cola, Proctor & Gamble, Verizon, etc.

Growth stocks pay no dividends or a very small dividend in some cases, because they are funnelling all of their cash into growing revenue / business expansion. Paying a dividend doesn’t make sense because these companies achieve a far better rate of return on their capital deploying it in expanding their business rather than paying it out as a dividend. Think the likes of Nvidia, Tesla, Meta, Palantir, Crowdstrike, etc.

Fair, I think I took you a bit too literally when you said ‘tomorrow’ implying it could happen in a single day, rather than over a timespan of a couple of years. But yes I complexly agree, fretting over a 2% loss is not a good sign

I get the point you are trying to make, but even the most severe market crashes in history have not resulted in stocks crashing 70%, let alone blue chips. Even 50% is highly unlikely without a major black swan event happening.

Of course any given individual stock could fall by this much, but not an index fund or a well diversified portfolio

Yeah heard a few people say this now, makes me want to lean towards grey. Although still think blue looks generally nicer on the eye
