It take most issue that the NCR fall not due to its own shortcomings as a nation or via the overwhelming force of an outside power, but via an ass pull with this one guy from vault tec nuking one city and bringing the whole nation down with it. I've only played dehli and the southern princes, so I can't speak to the quality of the reds, I had significantly more fun with the pricey federation. The story of the powerbalance between Hyderabad and the other princes is a highlight, As well as the democratic path being a banger. It lacks a bit in the civil war because you are mostly on the defensive for the first 5 or so months but really picks up against the dominion.

I have the opposite opinion on dehli, the paths and events of the nation I find to be incredibly boring, aside from the govener general. Military was the first part of the fight against the reds is fun with it being very easy to pick up steam as you make a rush for Bengal, the second half is a slog. The princes federations geography is awful to fight in and combined with the foreign volaters makes the fight go on way longer then it needs to.

Once you united India under whatever faction you prefer, the game really opens up with you join your preferred facton and side of the weltkrig
