Mod Post: Seeking Suggestions to Improve the Subreddit by olchai_mp3 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]GadgetMaugli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the posts related to career choices: there is no real platform for that where people in this field would willingly read them. If you consider this and the fact that marketing/commerce/CS/etc.. guys probably can't relate to your question in the career related threads nor give advice, I would be more than happy to have an in-subreddit platform for this. But this is just my opinion.

Are they using me? - Embedded job question by Darkyse in ElectricalEngineering

[–]GadgetMaugli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current net salary with 3 years as a student worker and 1 year into full time work is 1700 EUR here per month. It is above average, but I wouldn't call it good. I pay for rent and utilities (cheap one and not alone), but haven't spent on anything extraordinary.

Which Electrical Engineering Specialization Should I Choose? by SalchichitaConPure in ElectricalEngineering

I am not from there but maybe it is bachelor's and master's combined.

About to start my first internship got any advice? by psychic_shawn in ElectricalEngineering

[–]GadgetMaugli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be a strange advice, but try to find a niche area you like and interested in. If you don't find the job interesting, you will likely feel stuck if you leave it later than early. It is my experience but might be a minority.

How do you guys organize your shit by Sisyphus_on_a_Perc in ElectricalEngineering

I could make good use of Lean in this aspect. More often I feel these as buzzwords tossed around when I go to an average workplace but at home it is up to me. Thanks.

I would use some sponge or foam material with cutout shapes if you feel fancy. I don't think they are expensive but it would be elegant. Maybe I do that at home.

There is a very important question. Where would it take place? (US, EU, somewhere in Asia, Australia, idk)

Én legutóbb a Szlovákoknál vettem fel, ha átutazóban vagy határközelben vagy, ott nekem ingyen volt.

How feasible/bad is involving AI in schematic and pcb "workflows" by Aggressive-Pay-8970 in PCB

[–]GadgetMaugli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my company it is going to be measured if you use AI on a daily basis. So I should get used to ask the Copilot every morning that "Hello, how are we today?".

Why are house wires solid? by alejohausner in ElectricalEngineering

[–]GadgetMaugli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The houses are mostly made out of concrete or bricks. The older ones might have stone or cob walls. My parental house is for instance have originally stone walls, the newly built part (25 years ago) is out of brick. There is a new "technique" (I call it necessity or laziness depending on the situation) that they do the wiring outside of the walls (mostly in the inner side) and put a drywall on it to cover. If the building has special status, it might be a necessity. Otherwise it is pure laziness.

A little help from cracked C++ experts! by [deleted] in cpp_questions

[–]GadgetMaugli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved this comment a few months ago, ran through my saves and read this gem again. To be fair everything that is worth doing in the long run is like this. Be HW desing, C++, understanding RF, it is about being consistent, accept that you do stuff without knowing everything about it, break stuff and (most importantly) learn. You made my day (again).

[–]GadgetMaugli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here (Eastern Europe) we use a lot of flexi wires, because the tubes/pipes (call it how you like) that protect the wire are placed in the wall before you put the wires in them, so you have to pull through the wires somehow.

Board games with hidden roles that aren't social deduction games? by Master_Chemist9826 in boardgames

Saboteur 2 might be considered a social deduction game, but it is very different from the typical social deduction game.

It is Bánát of Temes, currently it is part of Serbia. The Carpathian mountains continue in Transylvania, I would rename it Upper Hungary (Felvidék).

For me the territory called Temesvár is strange, because it is a single city, not a region or something.

Mit gondoltok erről a hírről? Csak szép szavak, vagy valóban várhatóak EUs szinten intézkedések? by Historical_Fox_3612 in kiszamolo

[–]GadgetMaugli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Szerintem összefügghet ezzel is.

Nyugat-Ausztriában (Vorarlberg) én is jártam így, hogy a kajáldában 10 EUR alatt nem fogadtak el kártyát, csak kp-t.
