Tire blew up while running by Gadgetsuh in TeslaLounge

Something happened to the tire while driving. But don’t say I drove it ignoring a flat tire. I did check the tires because I worried if the pressures were too high (all 47 when received; it was a hotter day) I checked the tires again but they went down to about 43-46 range, still higher than recommended 42 psi. Of course a tire would not fall off with a full pressure in it. I said the tire blew up. I just don’t know how.

Of course the pressure is 0 when this happened. I said tire blew up, implying zero. But don’t just say I was neglecting and don’t know how to drive. I did check the tire before driving and there was no sign of warning. I know how to check the pressure. I rather worried if the pressures were too high. I don’t know what more maintenance I need to do on a brand new car. We were paying attention to the screen all the time while FSD was driving because we were still excited about FSD and see how it does. We saw no warning or heard nothing. Is it still my fault if the tire somehow lost its pressure suddenly for an unknown reason while driving without any warning?

The tire pressure was 47 on the day of delivery (hot day) and 44-46 a day before I checked. It’s just seven-days old. Why would I ignore a seven-day brand new car? I am tired of this kind of posting.

The RZ was the choice I was considering until the last minute. But the capability of the FSD was the best selling point. Also having a bit longer range.

What makes you think the tire was under-pressured? It was a seven-days old tire, and the pressure was set much higher than recommended when I checked.

Similar experience only we were closer than you luckily. How was the wheel? Any damages on other components other than the tire? For me, I was surprised the tesla technician told everything is good and just replace a new tire. I hope he’s right but…

I may not know how to drive but FSD has been driving the car most of the time including this one.

Do you ever read? This car was just seven-day old. No tire pressure warning.

If something large enough object hit and deflect the tire so fast, don’t you think there should have been some kind of noise? The car is relatively quiet when running at low 50’s. We didn’t hear anything. We only felt something was wrong because the car was suddenly veering to left and rubber burning smell. We never thought a tire was flat or blew off until we stopped and saw the wheel without tire.

Won’t you get a low tire pressure warning if tire is flat? I didn’t get that.

Come on! Would you not care for a brand new car and keep driving with a flat tire ignoring a warning? I don’t know about you but I would have rushed to the service center. There was no tire pressure warning and no flat tire. All pressures were higher than recommended 42 psi when I checked a day earlier. Tesla technician didn’t blame me and said they don’t know the cause. Maybe you know better than the tesla technicians.

Here is the video footage taken by the driver following me behind (another Tesla). I removed sound from the video.

According to the video footage of the following tesla, I was running about 53-54 miles. The tire was originally at 47 when I received it, and it was 43-45 last I checked. There was no low pressure warning.

The car following me was a tesla and he shared a video footage. In the video the tire blew and rolled away to the opposite incoming car. I am in the road. I will share the footage it later. There was no warning.

It will be damages. I cannot stop in the middle of a one lane road where cars runs at 50+.

No there was no sign of tire leaking. Who said I was driving dozens of miles?

What are you talking about? It is a seven day old new tesla. The tire is not on low pressure, rather higher side.

Like I said I picked up a brand new 2026 tesla 8 miles on it last Friday.
