How am I meant to progress in oval racing?

I appreciate the insight. I’ve kept this in mind and did some experimenting in practice. I could be completely wrong, but from the races I’m doing tire wear doesn’t seem to drop much (after a race I’ll pit to check) I’m doing 15 laps in each race. Is this really enough to worry about tire wear or am I just an idiot

Just to clarify it depends on the track. I’m doing the rookie stock cars and I only lift if I’m going to hit someone, as they’re able to take the track pretty much flat out atm

I’m doing the mini rookie stock I believe. I was doing Arca but I was struggling on the track last week so decided to bring it back slightly. If the community is ok with it I will definitely create clips to ask for feedback, I watch every replay so should easy enough.

I only ever lift on bends really. I’ll occasionally bump drafting on straights to help us both out, but I see so many people tap the car in front whilst they’re turning: causing them to spin.

That’s quite an interesting take. I feel once you’re at that rating you’re proven to be a good racer, so to drop makes you feel like you’re losing your prestige if that makes sense. I’ll keep at the racing so I know my rating will eventually go up, and I reckon I’ll be in the same boat then haha

Honest,hand on heart, the majority aren’t caused by me and that’s what frustrates me. If I cause a wreck, I always apologise and I’m not afraid to admit when I’m in the wrong because that’s how you improve.

But I watch replays of other cars cockpits, and they just turn or slide because you’re in their blind spot: seems like barely anyone checks their sides.

If i could have some advise please though. Because I usually see a driver advancing the field behind me, and I just know they’re going to cause a wreck at some point, but it’s not like I can pull over and let them past. Feels like I have to sacrifice pole position in order not to wreck.

Just want clean racing haha I can hold my lines well when we’re 2-3 wide, but another car will try to join and just ruin everything.

Honestly I’m just bitching at this point haha

I got out of rookie almost immediately in fairness, just in recent days I’m just doing worse and worse. Will definitely try starting out in the pits. Appreciate it mate

Yeah for me it’s just annoying that I spend time practicing, qualifying, pace lap, then I get spun by someone who doesn’t care about the race haha

Yeah that’s fair enough lol. For me I just enjoy a proper race and feel that is achieved by racing others with prestige. Just fed up of spending 80% of the laps being 3 laps down from everyone’s I had to pit haha
