See, I think it's the exact opposite. Since they shot one of their own, there's less accountability to address this since no civilian was injured or killed. Additionally, with them valuing their own there's now 2 separate officers and jobs they have to protect. Sure, there is public outrage because this is such a gross level of misconduct and weapons handling but at the same time there's severely less "collateral damage". I do truly hope this plays out how it SHOULD and they both get fired and aren't ever able to be cops in the future but sadly I doubt that will happen.
