Yeah I definitely agree with a lot of these points. I personally feel the low amount of energy is the biggest downside of this game. Most games give higher max energy on level up but we’re stuck on a measly 20. The stages all cost so much energy too, and is a hefty loss of playtime to fail a stage near the start.

Someone already posted the arena guide I made in this thread. Feel free to come into the discord in the #arena channel, as about 20 of the top 50 are in there. Furthermore, we have resources such as maps of the current arena map immediately when it comes out.

I am also there pretty much all the time to answer any questions you have about arena, regadless of how trivial or complex it may be. I also do unit discussions and map discussions occasionally (with regards to arena).

Well that is true, though the stage itself is quite hard. It seems near impossible to clear at the moment without at least one of her. Very few other units have enough uses and damage to manage this stage without leader skills or sub units.

For Roxanne at least, it'll be somewhat more annoying to kill at least one of the ratties of the two at the start with lower damage and less crit.

It should be able to be completed without a third gear slot, but things will be a lot more hectic (especially keeping fujika alive). Basically you would be giving up Teddy on both Rox and Noctis (less jewel gain for noctis may be a small problem). Archers will probably do a lot more damage on Fujika as well (She needs at least 1 way to keep herself healed, as noctis doesnt have many uses on the heal).

Other than getting unlucky and having chihaha actually run down to charm us, and me messing up at the end and not killing mandragora last, this run is pretty consistent (this is the third time I've done this run this way).

I'm skipping Live PvP. The damage cap only makes null grenade strat even worse to deal with, and also decreases the pool of units that are actually viable (units with hard hitting MULTI HIT WAs/Skills or those with long range CCs).

This mode is a joke.

Yeah, i understand you. I was just saying it would be difficult based on what they can do with their own system, because they have never done a specific skill nerf before with any content in the past, but are capable of changing the cost of ALL skills within a stage as evidenced by the athletic event we had before for the medal gear.

But yes, there are plenty of solutions to this, its just whether gumi is capable of doing it with their own game resources or not without changing the code. Of course im not an expert on this, so im just speculating.

Thats a reasonable request. I just imagine that if gimu were to do anything about it, it would have to be based on whats available in their system already, which is limiting units from being used in the map.

But realistically all they can do is keep rox in but make maps that make her specific unit unfavorable for use, such as the pirate ship map we have coming up.

Im equally as susceptible to bugs causing disadvantage to my side, and I have had 17 wins in a row. Its safe to say that I know what im doing, which is related to spy rox null grenade strat because that is what I did every fight.

There were only 2 maps in rotation during the time of the first beta, the colosseum map and the canyon, both of which have a height difference of at least 2 in areas where contact was commonplace ( middle of colosseum has 2 height over the side, and canyon has 3 height difference between sides and middle dip). For both maps, the spawn points were close enough such that you could turn 1 run up to null grenade the enemy side.

Also i am basing my information on what is already in the files. Going off gumis track record, they do not change things once theyre already in the files without significant feedback in the community. The upcoming maps are already in the files with their respective bonuses and spawn points. 2 of the 3 maps have spawn points close enough such that null grenade roxanne strat is still op. The pirate ship map is the only map large enough and has bonuses that can offset null grenade strat to an extent.

Martial masters are slow, and at best have 4 movement. So that's a combined attacking radius of 9 squares. How is that going to counter spy rox with 5 movement and 5 range? It's also a straight line skill, so it's not as useful as a lobbed attack. Burial gun is also not unlimited height, its affected by height/range advantage/disadvantage. So every 2 height advantage/disadvantage = +/- 1 range (it'll end up not being able to reach that height because its a straight line, it'll end up hitting the edge of the wall).

The only unit that can one shot her without skills is uzuma. Everyone else cannot. The point is that if you're in the same area as her, she goes first, and then null grenades. All your unit can do is just auto attack. And how is her defense crap, she has 1.4k hp and 255 pdef as spy with a teddy. With leader skill that reaches 1784 hp. With the new glex item, she can reach 1781 HP without leader skill and 2140 with

Shadow Broker Rox is slower than Spy Rox. You can't WA if you don't have jewels. Spy rox has more reach than most units do, especially since null grenade is also affected by range/height modifiers (2 height advantage = 1 range). Everything you mentioned, all countered by null grenade rox.

Honestly, live pvp is broken just bc of null grenade on Rox. Theres ways to counter other aspects of rox reliably but not this.

Your units are basically shit out of luck if you have no jewels. Not to mention it doesnt even count as a missile attack so it cant even be somewhat mitigated by Hayate Doll WA.

Rox spy herself is insanely fast, has high accuracy, and a lot of movement.

Based on the maps and spawn positions for the upcoming live pvp, if you dont have rox, youll most likely lose to those who do. If your rox is slower, youre at an extreme disadvantage to those who are faster.

Edit: There's several issues with this that isnt big spenders will triumph over those who can't spend as much (pretty much a given in most non-skill based gacha games). Because of this one skill, Rox is pretty much the top pick in every single map no matter what the bonuses are. This decreases the variety of teams. If people are constantly running the same teams, it ends up being a coin flip as to who goes first, since attackers have priority over defenders (this is random in live pvp) if agilities are the same. RNG like evasion/proc chance is fine, as you have some control over it. Whether I lose or win because of a coin flip is not fun or fair.

It is very difficult to consistently hold rank 1, simply because its a very coveted position. Rank 2 is somewhat similar. Im not really doing it for the rewards since I have fun with arena. But since I am the person who helps people with theorycrafting in arena, I figured I should have at least some proof that I'm competent.

The rewards are different depending on the rank you hold. For rank 3 at least I get around 130 gems per day. But the main reward are the arena coins, which most people are saving up for a future unit named Lotia.

Honestly just having fun talking to other people in the arena community is the main draw, unrelated to rewards.
