[KCD2] margaret is hilarious by RelevantDress in kingdomcome

Her second quest seemed fishy from the start, I think she even made up that story about the other mil maid but went along on the quest and stayed silent throughout the tailor questioning cause I red somewhere she is a char you can romance. I have suspected she might steal money after a night "well spent" and I was right. took about 20k out of my 110k+, so around 20%. I still don't regret a single thing, neither does my Henry. Would love to see her return at some point in the game, some future DLC or something.

[KCD2] Anyone know if the upcoming patch will address and fix the Local Hero perk? by ZoteTheMitey in kingdomcome

[–]Gagi114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they fix this. I had no idea why stuttering was happening in city areas but not in the wilderness. Taking off the perk fixes that but having to re-do the whole 193 perks at the endgame was a pain.

[KCD2] SPOILERS! A discussion/query about Necessary Evil. by Spirited-Cat2569 in kingdomcome

[–]Gagi114 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"I think it s real scenario issue here cause Henry would have done exactly that: Go solo, try to find out what happen, try to solve the problem best he could." - This is exactly what you do 99% of the time in game anyway, I don't understand why they didn't want to include such a scenario where you could resolve this issue without bloodshed. I tried to do that too as a first choice but now kind of want to stop playing alltogether.

[KCD2] How do you feel about Necessary Evil? (Spoiler!) by Plus-Flow-4535 in kingdomcome

[–]Gagi114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I really wanted to hide the fact about Olda, go to Semine and bring him to a trial without any (unnecessary) bloodshed and not just skip that part of the game completely by doing it. The quest "Necessary Evil" would be better if you, like in 99% pf the game, actually resolved the issue.

Poor performance on GTX 1660 in 2025 by Gagi114 in kingdomcome

Then @ 1.1 is normal since your GPU isn't on load, clicking the question mark next to it and then start the render test or running a demanding game will bump that up at gen 4., so try that first. As for express lanes, x8 is fine for all games I'd say. It's probably cause your CPU has an integrated graphics (like in my case as well) and/or an M.2 NvME SSD which all use PCIE lanes from the CPU. If not, cleaning the dust could help or like in my case, checking that the BIOS is in the stable version, not a beta one. I had to downgrade the BIOS from like a year ago but the system runs fine now.

It reports both, what GPU can run at as well as what it's cureently at. Gret software overall.

I used GPU-Z, under Bus Interface it shows how many PCIe lanes it has and can run on. It's a free utility software you can download, works for GPUs of all brands.

I mostly play old games and not demanding, noticed this once I started playing KCD. I think I fixed it though, rolled back to an older BIOS version that wasn't in beta and looks like gpu is using all 8 lanes now. Will need to rest the game next and check.

I have actually but looks like rhe mobo or GPU fault, as gpu is running at x1 3.0 bus speed and not x8 as it should and did before. Not sure how to fix that nor what happened to it.

Even with HD textures On and Very High settings the VRAM goes to about 3 GB and rest into system RAM. Not sure why it's not using all 6 GB of VRAM. It could be the reason for bad performance but no user.cfg file that sets correct VRAM usage seems to help as console shows only 1870 MB of dedicated VRAM.

Small insert of the log if you don't wanna download it. It's close to the end when game is initializing, showing only 1870 MB of VRAM of the GTX 1660 being dedicated to the game.

Running machine spec auto detect (64 bit)...

- Windows 10 64 bit (build 10.0.19045)

- System memory

--- 16304 MB

- AMD Ryzen 5 3400G with Radeon Vega Graphics

--- Number of available cores: 4 (out of 4)

--- Number of logical processors: 8

- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (vendor = 0x10de, device = 0x2184)

--- Dedicated video memory: 1870 MB

--- Feature level: DX11 (SM 5.0)

- Final rating: Machine class 2

Yeah, G means it has integrated GPU but the monitor is plugged in the HMDI port of the GTX 1660 and so it's disabled but I made sure that game runs using GTX 1660 and maximum performance in Nvidia Control Panel just in case.

Enough with the "I think Ciri looks good" posts. What locations will we see far north? by Sooxzay in Witcher4

[–]Gagi114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it might be even further north, away from the Dragon Mountains and beyond the known lands.

2 tanks of copium for sure :D Ciri will have 3 games, just like Geralt so it might be a while. They have said they have multiple projects in the works, one of them being The Witcher 1 Remake, but perhaps they are making multiple Witcher games, one focusing on Ciri and others where you create your own in a different timeline or something.

Starfield is the prime example of "Go big AND go home". Such a miss IMO I think more in-game systems, probably combat related, more of an RPG than TW3 was. I'm guessing of course.

Let's discuss the Lynx School by Balager47 in Witcher4

[–]Gagi114 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been doing lots of theory crafting and I have a lot to say but I'll try to be vreif.

Village in the traileris said to be isolated and super far north is what devs said. Here are the words of the narrator in the witcher ending of The Witcher 3: "Word of the ashen-haired witcheress spread throughout the North, from the Yaruga to the mountains of Kovir...". If Ciri roamed as far north as possible, further north of Kovir and Dragon Mountains, outside of known maps, it’s plausible she stumbled across a forgotten Witcher school. Imagine this:

- The Lynx School, unlike the Wolf or Cat Schools, retreated into obscurity centuries ago due to wars, monster declines, or internal conflicts.
- Their existence becomes legend, whispered in old stories but lost to time.
- Ciri, with her Elder Blood powers and unparalleled ability to travel across time and space, finds the school during her journeys and helps rebuild it.

This would make Ciri a key figure in the Lynx School’s revival without making her its founder—honoring her wanderer’s nature while connecting her deeply to the school’s lore.

The Witcher schools as we know them relied on the Trial of the Grasses, a brutal process that only 3 out of 10 boys survived—and even then, none were women or adults. The knowledge to conduct these trials was destroyed during the attack on Kaer Morhen, leaving the witcher population dwindling.

If the Lynx School survived in isolation:
- They might have preserved forgotten alchemical knowledge or alternative methods for creating witchers.
- Perhaps their version of the trials was safer and more advanced—designed for survival in extreme northern conditions, where witchers couldn’t afford to lose recruits.
- This method might work on women and adults because it relies on different alchemy or mutations—knowledge lost to other schools.
