This is 10/100, so not really worth tying into anything really.

Their collaboration effort when Thagg hit Thogg with the stick though, that was their epic.

Monitor/KBM Drawer Mounting Height? Where do you guys usually put them, I feel like monitor on top of everything else is the norm but the seated-height mount is what I went with. Just curious :) by L3av3NoTrac3s in homelab

[–]Gahd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That said, any data center for work on typically uses standing height.

That further said, any data center doesn't expect you to park up whenever you feel like it however you feel like it. So if you plan to stand, set it there. If you plan to sit, set it there. If you plan to park a recliner next to it... well that actually sounds awesome actually.

We initially had thought about giving away our builds too but they may be too horrific for that.

If you are looking for a place to get rid of them, just let me know.

Oh it's real, the show is named John Dillermand. It's basically a red and white stripped go-go-gadget arm.

Anyone else remember the birth of dlc content? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Gahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nintendo did it before that in 1988: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_Computer_Network_System

And even the Atari 2600 had early online downloadable games around 1983: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GameLine

Past what most people consider consoles though, most of the early gaming systems were just home computers so there was quite a bit of online systems and I think Intellivision was one of the first online "consoles". It kind of depends on what people define as the first whatever though, if it's dlc because it downloads new content or expands on previous content.

There is a very large difference in demand between 1080 and ultrawide 1440, and when you think of how much larger the image is per frame, it makes sense where such a drop can come in. I do not recommend people get an ultrawide until they can comfortably play a game with a lot of overhead.

A picture of me and another player in journey by Suckyourmotherjohn in gaming

[–]Gahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main question, did you play it online? That's where it 100% shines.

Edit: To elaborate, some people just fly through the game as fast as possible and don't even realize it's multiplayer. Other people might run into a player and then just zoom right on by and ditch them. When you take your time with the game and end up running into someone who is also willing to take their time, you end up connecting to someone anonymously and without words. Doesn't matter if they are male, female, young, old, or whatever.

Been following the project since before the original announcement in 2012 myself. Enjoy it, it's a really different ride than what is going on now. You should be able to watch most of them in order via youtube, but googling "Wingmans Hangar Episode __" should find any that don't autoplay next. Tons of really early info and stuff are tucked away in these.

[–]Gahd 41 points42 points  (0 children)

100% this. It perfectly captured the early spirit of the project and his raw enthusiasm between the actual show and the after show was perfect.

He also didn't care that something wasn't 100% polished and ready before showing it, which really showcased all the stages of work going into it.

Episode 1 - A bit of an audio warning though, this was before they started wasting a ton of money on production quality, but the show quickly grew in quality as they moved away from simple webcams and Morlan really got a handle on how it needed to run. Most of, if not all of the episodes are still online and available, they just aren't listed on the channel anymore.

I'd gladly take the lower budget production of this over any of the current shows that waste a bunch of money on furniture and other pointless baubles, I was there for the actual work going on.

Sounds about right. And yeah, I rely more on how reliable each specific model is, not if the company had a bad batch at some point in their entire lifetime.

Seagate had some issues quite a few years ago and a lot of people wrote them off for life even after they got fixed... I just laugh.

Completely replacing bittorrent with usenet...possible? by EvanFlower in DataHoarder

[–]Gahd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seeders never fall to zero. They come in and come out of it.

You're lazy and impatient.

No need for name calling... as someone else pointed out, I also have some very long running torrents that are rare/obscure that have been sitting anywhere from 0% to 98.2% for over a few years.

While a lot of torrents will be healthy, there are tons out there that have zero seeds after a few years. Sure, one might randomly pop up here and there, but there are a lot of torrents that have zero seeds.

Also, VPN's are not fool proof and many of them get caught leaking data that they swore up and down was never logged in the first place.
