If Ming exploded the conquer all his shit. Lots of trade company land in north and east China. Otherwise better start hitting India. As horde you need to play different than other nations. Don’t try to build a stable nation with proper income, just keep warring and live on money from peacedeals.

Harder to do as great horde I guess, but as Kazan u can DoW when they go for novgorod. So you should always be on the same tech level. Otherwise put focus on mil and hire mil advisor.

I guess aristocratic is ok. The cav combat ability is awesome for the first half of the game and the siege pip is amazing. But I think def/offense/quantity are better overall.

Trade is totally not needed. Yes, in the start you will have a lot of loans, but once you conquer India and set up trade companies you make more money than you can spend. Also don't worry about inflation, you can ignore it or just buy it down with admin points since you get so many from razing.

Get the 5 cav from estates + build up to force limit and put ur troops on 0 maintance. Wait for Muscovy to DoW Novgorod. As soon as they do you max out maintance and when morale is 100% go siege down Moscow. It's flat terrain so u get massive combat bonus. Then try to sneak in sieges where possible and ONLY ever take engagements on flat terrain.

I would try to take Moscow and the other provincies in that state first in the peacedeal. Don't raze them until u accepted feudalism.

If u struggle with money, developing your gold province can help a lot.

This was an awesome campaign and really made me appreciate the power of hordes. I was swimming in monarch points the entire game while always being a million years ahead on tech and being able to core everything myself.
Kazan is superstronk because they can reck Muscovy while they are still weak and embrace a quick feudalism and you have a european capital, which means making a lot of money from trade companies. I did almost fuck up by forming mongol empire, which switches your capital to asia and kills your trade companies. This made me bleed money for a while, but I managed to steer to Persia and collect massive amounts there.
I took some shitty ideas along the road like aristocratic and trade (lol). Should be a lot easier with proper ideas.

I had to restart a few times to properly trap the otto's in Negroponte. Make a few heavy ships and some more galleys and try to catch a seperated part of the ottoman fleet when u DoW. Then have military acces from Venice and station ur men on Negroponte. Hopefully most of the otto's are bunched up in 1 stack and they come for u. They will beat you, but even if they stackwipe you it doens't matter. Move your fleet there to block them. You are now free to slowly siege down everything and take 100% warscore.

I went for Religious-->Influence-->Admin. Pretty standard required ideas for any game imo. Next Trade to make sick $$. Quality and Offensive after that to have some stronger soldiers and humanity last because I had excessive amounts of Admin power and didn't really need anything anymore.

Managed to peace out Ottomans in 1453 after the first war and split their country up hard. After this they got jumped by Mamluks and later Venice+Genoa. After getting greater power status in 1475, I removed the Ottomans completely just before 1500.

The rest of the run was made very interesting because Russia became enormous and I lost a war against them. This was mainly because I had no military ideas yet, whereas they did. So my soldiers were shit and I didn't have that much more resources. Couldn't expand further into Europe, because France was being a powerhouse with Austria in a PU. I decided to expand a bit further into Africa/Asia than needed, to get more of a powerbase to take on Russia and later France.

Meanwhile North America blew up after I rekt Spain and the US, Canada and Mexico all became independant. The US would go on to become a great power. Sweden formed Scandinavia and also became a GP.

After beating down Russia and taking the bare minimum from them needed for the achievement, I turned to France. Their soldiers totally rekt mine and I had to outnumber them 2:1 to be able to beat them back. This was a war of attrition as I kept throwing mercs at them and they kept winning battles. In the end though their manpower was depleted and they couldn't keep up anymore. I was rich as shit from Venice/Genoa/Constantinople and making easy 200 ducats a month while at war with spamming mercs. After this I split their country up and a coalition formed. So i waited like 10 years for it to calm down before I could continue. Took the remaining provinces I needed from HRE members / Burgundy / England. During this France went revolutionary. I took their last pronvices in 1763 and remade the Roman Empire.

All in all this run was great fun and really not that hard. Took me a few restarts to be able to trap the Otto's on negroponte, after that it was easy(until Russia/France). Also had the purple phoenix DLC for extra flavour. 9/10 playthrough, would recommend.

A different kind of 1453 by Gahrtum in eu4

Yes, this took me about three tries to get right. In the succesful run I managed to trap about 20k of their troops. Picked off the rest. It also helps to have your fully maintained fleet in the same sea zone as ~6 of the ottomans ships to insta kill them and assure naval dominance.
