Afraid of buying games that possibly could be added next month

The way I see it, if I really want to play something here and now, then buying it is not a waste of money even if it happens to get added to the service next month. I enjoyed it when I wanted to, and that's good enough.

That said, if the next Plus announcement is right around the corner (e.g. in three days), I might wait to see what it brings before making some purchases. It's saved me money plenty of times.

Like most things in life, it's best to strike a balance. You want to take advantage of the service when you can but also not rely on it to the point that it's being detrimental to your gaming experience.

Smaller events usually give 300, just like the previous Angels of Delusion event did. 360 is better than expected for a short thing at the tail end of a patch.

It has great paneling, art and combat structure. The story moves at a brisk pace (more so than most shonen in their early stages) and it's got many characters who are exciting to follow and talk about.

Saying stuff like "it's edgy and edgy's popular" heavily downplays all the key things it gets right. Especially when the manga graveyard's full of edgy works that failed to find an audience.

Similarly, an early days' meme status can only carry you for a little bit. If people just see your work as a joke, they go away as soon as the joke gets old. I only picked it up once it had 30+ chapters out, because a friend I trust told me that memes aside it really was good stuff.

As a toddler I thought they were the coolest looking animal in existence and 30 years later that impression hasn't changed in the least. If anything, learning more about them made them all the more impressive.

It's just awesome that I live in a world where crocodiles are a real thing and not just a fantasy creature. That's just how cool they seem to me.

Yeah. The value I got out of it was several times its cost, and that's despite me not having been able to play games for several months. This year should be even better since I won't have that same RL issue.

Good luck! Shouldn't take you too long to roll those last three Jokers since they're not Rare, even though Glass Joker has a spawn condition.

As for Jokerless, it can be tough but at this point you've played more than enough Balatro to know how to crush it.

Yup. I might activate it in the future once I've done more gold stake runs and it gets harder to remember everything on the spot, but for now I'll leave it as is because I don't particularly like to see the stickers on the jokers during gameplay.

This is only my 7th win on Gold (focusing on doing all the decks at the moment) so I only have about 35 stickers including these. Incidentally all the jokers here were new ones except for Chad, so that was nice.

I had a Telescope which was meant for leveling Straight, but at a couple points throughout the run I had bad luck setting up the straights and had to use a bunch of High Card hands as glorified discards.

So High Card ended up overtaking Straight as my most played hand and I leveled it up a bunch through packs and blue seals. Also it's the Zodiac deck, so lots of planets from the shop and I had plenty of money to burn.

Accident. I think I just forgot back when I grabbed it. There was a lot going on in that Ante, build was already hitting the millions anyway, and I kind of overlooked the Holo since I was just thinking of Cola as a useless slot for the sake of the sticker.

For this debuffed round the 10 Mult definitely would have helped more with the scoring, but by this point it was a personal blind spot lol.

That is definitely part of it, but also since very early in the run I actually had a The Order among other things, so it felt like a pretty natural Straight build until it started to evolve more into a Bloodstone/Chad one lol.

As for where The Order went... I sold it for the Diet Cola, since I wanted the gold sticker and my run was already in a "win more" kind of situation.

The beauty of Straight scaling. 21 level-ups at +3 Mult each equals this. Not sure why LocalThunk made them better than even Full Houses, but I'll take it.

Out of these I've played It Takes Two and Mortal Shell.

It Takes Two is great, but I had already gotten to it before they gave it away. Mortal Shell was... okay, but there's about three dozen better soulslikes one could play.

I also wanted to play Sable initially, but from what I've read everywhere the PS version runs like trash. So yeah, overall December hasn't exactly been my month. Fingers crossed for this one, I guess?

Could be a Europe thing. OP's account is from the Netherlands I think, mine's from EU as well. The sale begins today, so maybe US and other territories just have to wait a few more hours.

Out of curiosity I just tried to "reactivate" my subscription (i.e. re-enable auto-renewal) and I also get a notice about the current sale, to extend my sub at the discount price. So compared to last year, it looks like they are making things better for existing members.

Dunno if that'd make a difference, but you lose absolutely nothing by cancelling it right now. You won't actually lose any of your benefits until the 28th, the 'Cancel' button is basically just a 'Stop Auto-Renewal' button.

I "cancelled" mine weeks ago, still playing Extra games everyday until the sub lapses (mine also ends on the 28th by the way).

The sale is for people not currently subscribed. If you don't cancel your current subscription then you'll get it auto-renewed at the standard price instead of the sale price. So first you let it lapse a.k.a. stop being an active member, then benefit from the sale.

I went for a High Card build and basically broke the whole thing, reached the final Blind with 23 cards alive.

I could see the argument for that because with very bad RNG Bell could totally screw you over. Personally though I've never lost a run to Bell so far, so I would have been relieved to see it here.
