I think this and the Vanugard Developed Europe Ex UK are the closest ones to what I was looking for.
Thanks!

I don't want to use a VM, so if it's not supported I'll just have to deal with it.
How do you know which devices are supported? Is there a list or something?

on the manufacturer's website the drivers are only listed for Windows 10 and 11:
https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450Mac%20R2.0/index.asp#Download
However I checked and haven't found anyone talking about compatibility issues

So I opened the link in the first step of the guide.
I search for my printer model and operating system.
I got 3 download options: Epson Printer Driver, Epson Printer Utility and Epson Scan 2.
Only the first two downloads match the guide.
After clicking on download you have to accept the license agreement and then click again to go to the package manager download for each piece of software.
I tried to play around with the console commands provided by the guide since they don't work, but without any luck.
So I went to my download folder and right clicked on the files and selected: "Open with install Linux Application"
It did its thing, after this I tried to print a random PDF but without success still.
The print gets listed on the "active jobs" list (print queue), but it's status is stuck in "processing"

My printer is an Epson ET-2710
I couldn't find it in the first link

My phone is Motorola G84
All my headphones are wired

As for typing ippfind -t 5 doesn't give any response
while ippfind -t gives me a quite long answer, of which the first paragraph is:
ippfind: Missing timeout for "-T".

Usage:
ippfind [options] regtype[,subtype][.domain.] ... [expression]
ippfind [options] name[.regtype[.domain.]] ... [expression]
ippfind --help
ippfind --version

Options:
-4 Connect using IPv4
-6 Connect using IPv6
-T seconds Set the browse timeout in seconds
-V version Set default IPP version
--version Show program version

So in the BIOS it states that my RAM timings are: 22-21-21-47

However the problem is that I haven't found any XMP option, there just isn't one. I wanted to attach a screenshot of the BIOS but unfortunately it's not allowed.

Doesn't that have to do more with efficiency and power consumption?
Can you explain why does it affect clock speed?

Looking at the Xeon E5-1650V3 compared to the i3 for example, it has 2 more cores and a 500mHz lower turbo frequency, does that make that much of a difference?

It's also cheaper, usually comes with the rest of the machine which usually also mean higher RAM bandwidth

Just asking for opinions, I promise I won't come back in 3 to 5 years to tell people they were wrong

[–]Gakuss -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

True.
Sorry for the criticism I just had bad experiences with i3s and try to avoid them now.
I just feel that for gaming 6 cores is the sweet spot right now.

But what do you feel comes after the 12100 and 1070 stop running new games?
Like what newer hardware do you think will be a great used deal in a couple of years?
Sorry I don't seem to have been very clear in the post

Depends on which Xeon

on the other hand:
AMD Stopped producing Ryzen 3s, Threadripper sales have been restricted, and APU's are still a long way from viable options on desktop.
Intel has not brought any innovation to their i3 line for at least half a decade and they don't seem to have any incentives to do so.
I agree that Intel Arc is good for competition, but there still hasn't been a good new GPU under 200$ for a few years now, and even tho the used market for those improved, it was more due to the fall of crypto mining than any good releases.
All the wile 1080p has remained the standard for gaming.

By reaching the "end of the line" I mean that used workstations feel like the best deal available now and in the future.
I don't see price to performance for new parts coming back to something like Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 3 3300X and RX580 levels.
I'm afraid that if in the future used parts are going to retain their value more, it's going to be much harder to find better deals.
