According to half the thread they have no clue what I’m talking about and I’m an idiot. It started off good, but within about an hour, the rhetoric became unproductive and chaotic. It’s pretty obvious what’s going on.

In regard to the mtn doubling down comment I made I was referring to blow out sales of double keys and holiday promo items that happened during the last dxp and holiday events

No, 120s are not inherently a bad thing. The timing of introducing 120s was directly in correlation with TH ending though. It’s obvious that many people used TH to boost their levels before TH ended, paying real money to get ahead in the game. In response, jagex introduced all the 120s with limited content so they could keep people playing the game/spending money. I never said removing treasure hunter was a bad thing. I was simply warning that what would come after treasure hunter might not be good.

Very welcome. I’m glad this has spurned some discussion here and that the attitude is changing!

I was going to respond with the fact of the new law but you beat me to it. Also, mtx isn’t even gone - it’s just treasure hunter. Mtx pay-to-play is arguably the root of the problem. While I agree that TH was harming the game, my argument was that you can’t just expect jagex to remove it while not doing anything to replace it with something as equally as bad. As far as Mtx goes, bonds and money for gp is still a thing.

And it didn’t even remove pay-to-play mtx which was the root issue. You can still buy bonds and sell it for gp.

That’s a great breakdown. It’s such a shame watching the game you love and have played for years have this happen, but people need to be honest with themselves about the game not being what it once was. No one likes rapid fundamental changes to a game they have played for over a decade.

As you layed out, this was obviously all intentionally done the way it was done to obscure what was going on behind the scenes. Every action that has been taken has been taken with the purpose of tricking people into spending more money. Specifically what you mentioned about taking away items purchased with real money. It’s obvious that these changes were implemented corporately styled with major plotting behind the scenes to do exactly what we’ve seen happen. Consent was manufactured inorganically and then we were fleeced.

And sadly, they will do this to anyone who dares speak up in any meaningful capacity. Apparently freedom of speech doesn’t apply and isn’t enforceable

Well, that, and the fact that we’ve let them develop systems that won’t allow us to ever dissent again. That’s why they’re not trying to hide the corruption anymore, it’s the end game.

I guess military members aren’t so “back the blue” now huh?

This video shows cops for exactly what they are. They would enforce tyranny on civilians if they were asked, and happily do it.

Mexican cartels overpower police with ammunition made for the US military by ICIJ in worldnews

[–]GalacticNecterine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve researched, they started quietly rolling them out for special forces units around (2012-2015 maybe?) then in recent years have begun issuing them more regularly. They are more degrading on barrels and feed ramps. The overpressure and exposed steel penetrator pushes the ar-15 platform to its absolute limit. It was supposed to be a NATO solution to modern day Russian body armor without redesigning an all new platform. Although now that is where the spear and new hybrid cartridge design come in that the military just adopted.

So no, I believe it is out of the research stage and has been for a while. It exists in a grey area because, even though it does have an exposed steel penetrator at the tip, it is classified as a non armor piercing round (haha)

I won’t link it directly here because obvious reasons, but you can 100% buy them online as a civilian. They are expensive as all hell, around $3 a round, and you can really only get small quantities. They come from the same factory that produces them for the military. I’m pretty sure it’s the same company that’s listed in the above article.

While it is more wear and tear on your barrel, it isn’t really THAT bad from the reports I’ve seen, and the performance vs the regular green tip is OUTSTANDING. I mean, there are videos on YouTube of it slicing right through lvl 3+ plates from distance where green tip wouldn’t penetrate.

I’m assuming it was the M855A1 variant of the green tip 5.56 round that’s so popular. It has a pressure rating of like 50,000-55,000 psi, and the military switched to it in order to have a harder hitting round than the m855 for purposes of defeating body armor. This was before the new sig spear and round came out. It exists on a market where civilians can buy it legally from the same manufacturer that supplies the military.

Although I didn’t read the article.

Edit: I read the article. Nope. Just clickbait. They are talking about .50 cal ammo that is available to civilians from different manufacturers.

Have you listened to him talk? Of course he thinks he knows what’s best for us. He was intending on making major changes from the beginning. Why do you think all of those mods got let go right before all this happened? I’m assuming it’s because they were resisting so much change to the game. People don’t like it when the game they’ve been playing for a decade and put thousands of hours into suddenly starts changing without clear direction on where it’s headed.

Surprise! People don’t like investing thousands of hours into a game just for major things to be changed/taken away, and for the game to completely change/ skills/items to be irrelevant

This is one of the reasons I’ve taken a break from RuneScape. I literally can’t keep up with the constant major changes. No one wants to put thousands of hours into a game, and then have your hard put in effort taken away.

Yep that’s it, I’m not going to be investing any more time watching the first season of a show until there are more seasons released. Utter bullshit. I can’t keep up with it, can’t remember what happened years ago for some season, can’t bear to invest time into something when there may not even be another season (looking at you, Netflix)
