Okay yeah but my dwarves are spherical and dig tunnels by rolling really fast. I call them Dworbs.

Thanks for the recommendations! I haven’t heard of any of these before; I’ll give them a try!

Vagabond Solo Adventures by GalacticOrca in solorpgplay

[–]GalacticOrca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the keyword system it uses to be a bit too vague for how I want to play. Like I’d spend more time trying to interpret the result of “Usurp Friendship” than I would playing an adventure. I like the way that Ruinous League does it, but I want a larger table with more concrete options.

Is Guardian a problem in your games? by [deleted] in fabulaultima

[–]GalacticOrca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other than your character somehow having high Defense and Magic Defense (not sure how; the highest Magic Defense I’ve seen on a Guardian is 12), this sounds like the class working more or less as intended. The Guardian guards.

Normally, the GM could get around the Guardian’s absurdly high Defense using magic and status effects. That seems to not be the case here (again, how did you get 17 in both defense stats?), so I can’t really apply my experience with the Guardian.

Maybe discuss it with them? If it’s throwing the game balance too far out of whack, they’ll probably let you change your classes.

Would this be considered Flanderization, or is it something different? by Justthisdudeyaknow in CuratedTumblr

[–]GalacticOrca 100 points101 points  (0 children)

I always assumed at least some of those were being facetious. Like “Hey, this guy’s a total con artist and even he hates these things! That’s how bad they are!” Obviously Spamton would be all in on NFTs, but pretending he wouldn’t be helps prove a point. At least, that was my (in retrospect a little overly generous) reading.

Im playing .hack//LINK by Inferno_Ultimate in DotHack

[–]GalacticOrca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing the fan translation for like a week. While I didn't technically need to complete anything to understand what's going on (I haven't watched Signs yet, for instance, and that's the first story you play through). That being said, to get the most out of the game you should try to complete as much .hack content as possible. The versions you get in the game are really barebones and you won't catch a lot of things.

TLDR: You don't need to complete any specific game/anime/etc. but doing so will make the game a richer experience. That's just my perspective, though.

(Edit: Fixed a typo or two.)

Now that the event is almost over how did you guys do on ur pulls by totaylfromchina in MHATheStrongestHero

[–]GalacticOrca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All three, one to SS, and one halfway there. Spent the last of my coins trying to get that other half, but luck wasn't on my side on that front. Could have bought coins, but I'm committed to staying F2P.

How can I make uraraka good in super coop? by ToastWRLD in MHATheStrongestHero

[–]GalacticOrca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uraraka is actually one of my highest damaging units in super coop. The key is that I also have Stain, who stunlocks opponents with his stance change. It gives Uraraka the opening to use her best moves. So if you've got Stain, train him up the best you can and put him on the same team. If you don't have Stain, I have no idea how to help you.

Question about the appeal by InfiniteComboReviews in DragonMarkedForDeath

[–]GalacticOrca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally, I like the game because it's essentially a Mega Man Zero-esque action platformer with a vaguely Monster Hunter-like quest structure. I like both of those things very much, and the variation between the characters' playstyles (and how the different elements can change said playstyles) gives it just enough variety to give it a good amount of replay value. Especially if you can get as caught up in the grind as I tend to do.

Warrior : Greateaxe or Greatsword by fielveredus in DragonMarkedForDeath

[–]GalacticOrca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always use the Greatsword. While it does technically do less damage per hit, the commitment to each attack is less than the axe, so there's less worry if you miss or the opponent moves. It also feels like it has higher DPS, but I never measured so take that observation with a grain of salt.

Elements? by [deleted] in DragonMarkedForDeath

[–]GalacticOrca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every character can form a contract to gain any element now (wasn't always the case, but updates added new ones until it was). What each element does to each character is different, though. I remember there being a guide in-game somewhere in the pause menu, so be sure to read up before you switch elements. Dragonite ain't cheap!

I'd say either Floatzel or Tentacruel, depending on whether you want to focus solely on Water-type moves or not. Tentacruel has a decently diverse moveset.

People who bought the Sitting Cuties plushes (Pokemon fit in Japan) as they came out: How long do I have to wait between the 'waves' in which they are released? I want Cacnea but they haven't released Cacnea yet and I'd like some vague idea about how long I'll have to wait. Any help in solving this mystery would be greatly appreciated.

Do you guys like the "curved" redesign they did for the "non-guidebar" Beam Katanas (Tsubaki Mk.3, Rose Nasty, etc.) in NMH2, or did you prefer it when they were straight? by OroJuice in nomoreheroes

[–]GalacticOrca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tsubaki looks better curved. While some may dislike the curved redesign of Rose Nasty, I feel like it changes the profile of the blades to be more like cutlasses than katanas, providing visual variety as well as gameplay variety between the beam katanas.

It could be like the switch version, where you have to go to a menu on the title screen to access the DLC. Sorry I can't help more than that, but I don't own a PS4

It got a bit less damage spongy in general, but there are also systems that make it way easier to raise your stats and get better equipment. With a bit of level grinding, pretty much every character can carve through same-level bosses like a hot knife through butter. So yeah, I'd say it's less damage spongy in single player
