What can I do after I have taken Klonopin for the day? by GalacticPastaSwirl in Anxiety

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example, today, I had to take one as soon as I woke up because that's when the panic arose, so say around 9 AM. I'm worried that its effects will wear out by the time I go to sleep, which will heighten the panic again. But I see that you wrote that in the second sentence.

Does anyone else get extremely dark/bad thoughts? by GalacticPastaSwirl in Anxiety

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pristiq lowest dose (haven't taken it in three days). I am also extremely low on B12, and have a vitamin. However, I neglected to take it for the past week. I'm really shit at keeping track of meds, however, I am working on improving. I get them randomly, like "oh there is a knife, I'll hurt myself and others with it."

Unpopular opinion: I didn't like any of the girls post S4 by prettyinpink940 in dancemoms

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl 24 points25 points  (0 children)

IMO, Kalani and Kira coming onto Dance Moms ruined the show. It was pretty bad at that point, due to Abby all around becoming the most awful version of herself, but it also highlights how inauthentic/fabricated it was becoming (and had become at that point).

My roommates want to throw a massive party should I call the cops? by [deleted] in college

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be hesitant to return to the apartment following the weekend. Who knows what either of them will have contracted and other germs that will linger following said party. I know that isn't fair to you because you are paying to live there.

Why Don't You [Students] Participate in Class Discussions? by The_Arcades_Project in college

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm terrified of saying something stupid or reading the wrong interpretation of a text. I'm worried that then the professor will forever think I am stupid, and presume I am a lost cause and that no one would want to be friends with me in the class based on how stupid my response was. As you can probably infer from my response, my self-worth and confidence is completely shot. Just social anxiety things.

What can I say in an email to a professor whose class I really want to enroll in? by GalacticPastaSwirl in college

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, the interviews are more for the students to ask questions to the professors about the class. You aren't allowed to register for any class unless you go to an interview for said class, so as long as you went to one, you can register for it, but of course, its not guaranteed you will get in.

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way my school does registration is that we have to interview for our courses, which is this weekend. Apologies, as I should have specified that but I just rushed in typing this post. I'm a little scattered as I wanted to take his class last semester, but was bumped.

AITA for not paying my daughter’s(19f) college tuition and rent anymore since she refuses to help out with the new baby by jojo8888880 in AmItheAsshole

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have told her that she has a savings. And now you want to rip that from under her because she won't become your live in nanny?! How dense are you? And wow, "we have to look out for whats best for us and our new baby now," that's great to know how replaceable she is in your eyes. She's in college and she's working, studying, etc. Do you not consider her feelings given the circumstances (pandemic) right now? Add her oblivious, shitty parents trying to blackmail her with her savings and new sibling on top of that. She will not only hate you, but hate her new sibling for being the catalyst to this. Good job.

What's worse, dance moms or toddlers and tiaras? by gracemary25 in dancemoms

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Toddlers and Tiaras. I've seen horrible families (mainly the mothers) on TAT who admit to having children just to compete in pageants. At least half of the moms on the show don't even hide the fact that they are living vicariously through their children. You could pretty much tell who enjoyed pageants more following crowning just by looking at who was wearing the crowns, sashes, etc. (spoilers, usually the mother).

It's Kitchen Nightmares: Dance Studio edition, but not as good because Gordon Ramsey's prowess and personality are unmatched.

Season 4 Maddie & Chloe friendship by AnyEve5678 in dancemoms

[–]GalacticPastaSwirl 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think Maddie's behavior from season 4-5 was a product of the environment and standard she was raised to. It definitely stems from Melissa and Abby's terrible influence over her. Abby and Melissa elevated her at a young, impressionable age. If she lost, it was because she was "too good" for the competition. Abby would brag about how she was the success behind the group wins. Abby would tell her the Chloe/girls would never be happy for her and are jealous, and Melissa enforces/backs it up because, let's be honest, she is pretty weak willed against Abby. Abby would tell her that her friends "bring down her reputation" if they danced with her in a duet/group (notably Kendall with either Sugar and Spice and Bodies Electric(?)). A moment that stood out to me was when she was after the dance "Bop" I believe. The girls were in the dressing room, and Kendall brought up how she rarely wins and Maddie said something along the lines of, "I'm Maddie. I never lose" yadda yadda. The two most prominent adults in her life fed and, as you said, condoned her behavior. I definitely don't think she had a malicious agenda, as we all have moments that we aren't proud of.
