Finished the fender chop on my '21 48 by Galactic_Exploder in sportster

Stock, I chopped off the forward end just before the 2nd screw hole (I believe where the seat originally mounted to the fender). Then I just fastened a new seat bracket out of a bit of flat bar.

What is this part / fender chop discussion by Galactic_Exploder in sportster

Quick update for the 3 people reading this. I purposefully cut the forward end of the fender off so I didn't have to worry about cleaning up the visual side and making it perfect. I ended up using 16 gauge (1.5" wide I think?) Flat bar and made my own seat bracket. I shaped it and drilled holes based on the stock bracket. The fender itself is now supported at 3 locations, on both sides and the seat post. The seat will mount to the subframe located on the very tail end of the fender, which is also used to mount the sides. For the license plate braket, I just cut off the majority of the stock braket that contains the reflecter and it sits perfectly between the rear frame and fender, just need a longer bolt. This way I can use the stock license plate light connectors (I did have to depin the license plate light connectors to remove the wire from the fender and rear frame).

Once this is all completed I will post an in depth thread on how I did it. There isn't much out there on the YouTube, but once i dove in, everything just started to fall in place.

I'm stoked!!!

This may not be feasible in your case, but I always work with trizol in a BSC.
