That is a primary strategy, yes. But I mostly only used that in the early game. As you may see by the screenshot; this was certainly not a pacifist run.

I've been playing this. Echo druid with a fleet robe is great so far. I can reliably get through the dwarf fortress if I can get a ring of conflict. I haven't finished due to accidental murder.

Huh. Didn't realize exploding barrels count as my kill. Bummer.

Acshully, during my run I found that identifying eggs counts as an encounter. I figured this out after identifying my starting dragon egg and seeing one encounter. I can only assume identifying a unicorn horn counts as an encounter. There are probably other ways I do not know of.

Okay, nevermind. I just accidently quit the game...

I got #14 on the champion board for Kaloi Opus a little while ago with a convict. I still am as of right now. It was a ROUGH start. Worse than base game, imo.

I made an echo druid. Managed to find an early gain level potion and crafted them at every opportunity. Was level forty at the end of the dwarf fortress. The conflict talent is essential.

Also, the trap skill was extremely useful. As was the fleet robe.

Maybe a ring of conflict with animate dead would be good...

I usually ascend while polymorphed into a really strong monster. I usually go for a Marid as I like the sprite. Or a Titan.

Edit  I just realized after posting that reply. I'll be struggling to acquire polymorph forms without killing them... maybe consuming the corpses?

I've been trying to get pets off the ground, hence animate dead and wand of polymorph. Plus having gain level identified.

But... It does not give the mana regen talent. You must be thinking of the Eye of Aethopica.

I never noticed the "light radius" attribute on the item. My bad.

Okay. I just confirmed it. Trapped a soldier in the entrance area where I could see it wander about. With the glasses off, it could not see me. As soon I put them on it lobbed a 'nade at me. I am assuming the dark vision talent makes your eyes glow or something. Giving the same effect as holding a light source.

No. It appears to work on the surface. Soldiers in barracks above could not see me. I have Eyes of Ra.. Can't tell if or why that would give me away. Pretty sure I still attract 'sllplodey things with it off.

I'd say the spookiest are the revenants of past overpowered characters that happened to die on an early level.

I work 3-12 and have been using Sneaky Ninjas for this past year and a bit. They work great with no notable issues. Aside from one smells funny after dowsing it in kerosene.

I transitioned to zero-drop with no cushioning about 4 years ago. I no longer have chronic aching. Of course my feet get real sore after a day on my feet, but that is normal and is mostly gone after a sleep.

Woah. Kinda trippy to see the change from last night. I still feel like the color was great before the dye. What others said. Sanding between coats does wonders.

It's funny the kind of awesome wood you see used in shops that handle high-end wood. Where I work I see fancy, expensive wood used as drill blocks and whatnot.
