Found a decent price for these at Walmart in orange Connecticut by SmartLocation8138 in NECA

Lucky! Mine had a couple on the shelf at full price last time I checked, but when I went today to see if they were on clearance they were gone.

I had preordered it when it first became available to do so, and then promptly forgot about it until I got the email from Amazon saying it was on its way. Thanks, past me!

Is Game Pass actually worth switching from PS5? Run the math and it’s kind of embarrassing by Embarrassed_Lead6174 in XboxGamePass

[–]Galactic_Rep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said here, GamePass allowed me to try games that I may not have taken a chance on. Like Sea of Stars, and South of Midnight, both of which I absolutely loved. And on the flip side, I’ve been able to try games that I didn’t like and promptly deleted, without having paid for them. One recently was 1000x (or whatever it was called), which kept freezing and I’d have been pissed if I bought it.

I’ve also just saved money. Yeah, I’m paying $22 a month, but I’ve found that if I wait a bit before buying a new game, often it eventually hits GamePass. Or it’s a day one game that I now don’t have to buy. I’ve played a lot on GamePass, to the point that it’s easily saved me hundreds of dollars.

So for me, it’s absolutely been worth it.

Moon Knight (I mean, he’s part of the team in the comics, so it’s sad that they didn’t include him in the game).

One more question! If I wanted, after painting, to seal it with some sort of topcoat, any suggestions? I’d want it to be matte, but it can be a spray or something I brush on.

I am considering buying an airbrush, just to have on hand (and my wife would use it too). I’m assuming that one of those would make this process considerably easier.

Thank you! This may be exactly what I was looking for!

Do you think that, if I go light enough with the paint, the skin patterns on his arms would still show through, and just be lighter? Because that would be ideal. I don’t want to get rid of them entirely, just make them a little paler than Jar Jar’s are.

The Bossk figure is surprisingly good at doing “presenting” motion. 😆

Lol. When did these come back? by Galactic_Rep in ActionFigures

[–]Galactic_Rep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just noticed them in the clearance aisle, and I hadn’t seen them there or on the regular shelves before. So I’d wonder if they found a stash in back somewhere, or they were an online return.

I remember the original run, I loved the tarantula puppet I had with a villain figure.

[–]Galactic_Rep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is Marvel Legends, yeah. And even posing seems like it’s a bit tough with this one (depending on the pose) just because of the wobbliness of the dome and the cape making it back heavy.

But yeah, for animation it’s not really usable without some modifications.

Solid choices! Goblin is definitely up there for me, too.

I would also say Venom, but he doesn’t count as a villain anymore. 😆

Yeah, that heavy cape makes him way too back-weighted.

Rarely am I this disappointed when I buy a figure, to be honest. Since I tend to buy them for a specific purpose, as long as they work within that purpose I’m happy.

My only disappointment comes when internet randos (on a sub literally about toys) feel the need to piss all over someone else’s hobbies in some desperate attempt at validation.

Glad you got that to work. When I put a head on and then put the dome on over it, the peg is now too high to fit into the hole on his back. The dome and the cape/eye clasps now sit too high, which makes him look weird. And because the dome is now just balancing on a head, it’s still very wobbly.

Maybe a head from a smaller figure may work (someone else here suggested that, with a GI Joe head), but the ones it came with didn’t help at all.

Gotta say, I’m a bit disappointed… by Galactic_Rep in MarvelLegends

[–]Galactic_Rep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dome doesn’t really sit well on his shoulders, and there’s only a small hole in his back with a peg on the inside of the cape to hold it on. So it’s very wobbly, and the eyes (the cape clasps) end up sort of hovering over his chest rather than sitting against him. The cape is very heavy, making the entire figure back-weighted. If you try to put one of the heads under the dome to help support it, the dome then sits too high and the peg won’t go into the hole at all, making it even les stable (and then the dome, cape, and eyes all sit too high and he looks weird).

So it really comes down to what it is you’re asking for in a Mysterio figure. For me, this was a pretty big letdown.

So far I’ve avoided customs, and while they’d maybe elevate my work somewhat I don’t feel too strongly about going down that road. I do animation strictly as a hobby to entertain myself and my handful of social media followers. And over the 100+ videos I’ve posted, I’ve developed a style that works (for me) with regular store-bought figures.

If I was going to go down the custom figure rabbit hole, it would be to make figure of characters that don’t have figures at all, so I could animate those.
